Hi there! I've been playing guitar since I was a teenager during the '70s. i play and teach rock, blues, jazz, fusion and read and compose music. What you can expect from me is a patient, serious, determined teacher who knows how to convey simple to complex technique and ability to those who are destined to be a student and musician. I can teach how to read, listen, interpret, improvise and evolve many musical skills.

About Gregg
I have had extensive jazz a rock studies from attending The Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, to becoming George Russell's teaching assistant at The New England Conservatory of Music in Boston before he retired. I learned from a true master of jazz and contemporary music regarding composition, improvisation, theory and teaching students.

My aim is to share my musical knowledge, sense of harmony and technique to dedicated students. All melody and chords come from scales, which is essential to understanding music, as well as rhythms. I also accept what a student wants to learn. An important attribute of mine is patience, and the understanding that each person processes information differently.

Gregg was my musical instructor during the early 1980ties. What I learned in a few lessons with him was more that I could have expected. I was primarily focused on percussion, of which his vast knowledge was highly dynamic. I learned about poly-rhythms, Indian ti-hies, and complex time signatures. He had available much reference material that he provided me. And over the years his musical insights have not only supplemented my inquiries, but made me a better musician and person. I hope you have a chance to study with Gregg, as you will be introduced to a new and better way of musicianship!

I will happily spend the time teaching you how to play your favorite songs, give you different techniques for different styles of playing, or dive into the endless depths of music theory which can lead to all new levels of learning possibilities!

About Maximillian
Since 2010, I have taught private music lessons to students of all ages. Focusing on instrument techniques and the concepts of music theory, I guide students along their musical journeys and help them find joy in the music-making process. The music instructors I had over the years made a lasting impact on my life and I will never forget them. I now strive to do the same for my students, to provide them with a meaningful learning experience in music. I studied music at Ramapo College of New Jersey, worked as a touring musician and audio engineer in Nashville for 3 years, and now reside in Boston, where I play with many different musical groups, ranging in styles from jazz to folk and everything in between. I also recently helped a platinum-record engineer build a new recording studio, QUAD Lakeside in Raymond, Maine, which is where I recor

I have been teaching Rock, Jazz, Classical, Folk and just about any other kind of guitar lessons you can think of since 1998. I have a degree in Jazz Performance and also have an extensive background in music theory, ear training and music technology. I work as a freelance musician and private teacher in the United States as well as Europe. As a teacher I pride myself on being prepared and patient.

About Matt
I am a professional jazz guitarist, singer-songwriter and teacher. I've been teaching music to students of all ages privately and in groups since 1998. After graduating from William Paterson University with a Bachelors Degree in Jazz Performance I spent 10 years in New York City working as a freelance musician and operating my own guitar studio. Since that time I have also been affiliated with several teaching studios, private schools, public schools and international schools. With a comprehensive background in Jazz, Classical and Rock guitar as well as electric bass, piano, music theory and voice; I am uniquely qualified to teach students of all ages and levels.

As a teacher, I think it’s most important to provide my students with a well rounded musical education that focuses on and adapts to what they are interested in lea
rning. Music lessons should be fun and I always keep that as my number one priority while also making sure that my students are getting a solid musical education that they will be happy with now and in the future. I pride myself on being patient, enthusiastic, empathetic and always prepared. I’m familiar with all of the most popular methods and have also created a large library of my own teaching materials.

During my career, I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to teach several different populations in the US, Greece and Germany. These diverse experiences have been extremely challenging and helped make me into a stronger teacher. From 2001-2003 I taught at the Center for Individualized Training and Education(CITE) which is a special needs school in Providence, RI. At CITE, I worked with students ages 6-17 and learned a lot about how to use music to bring joy to students who are not necessarily able to engage in a traditional musical education. In 2016, I created a music program in Athens, Greece for refugee children seeking asylum. I worked in conjunction with the School Box Organization to raise money for instruments, and taught guitar and hand drum classes at a school they had set up in a refugee squat. Although I'm no longer at the school, I am still helping to oversee the program and plan to do more of this work in the future. During my time in New York City, I worked with kids attending some of the most exclusive private schools in the country and dealt with the challenge of fitting music into an extremely demanding and high pressure educational environment. All of these experiences have helped shape my teaching philosophy as well as my views on life and music. I am currently teaching students in Boston as well as online lessons in Canada, Europe and the US.

Matt Macaulay has taught me guitar in his studio and at my home over the course of the last two years. He is a wonderful teacher, caring, thoughtful and thorough. I've had a lot of music teachers over the years but Matt stood out in his ability to provide organized and interesting teaching sessions which are well prepared for in advance and always entertaining. Matt is an amazing motivator and swiftly got me through the burdens of an early learning curve and into the fascinating world of music. I would warmly recommend him to anyone who is interested in learning - at any age - and is looking for a highly skilled and caring teacher!

I gave lessons many years ago after finishing music school and have been working as a Software Engineer by day and playing music at night ever since. I decided to start giving lessons again recently when I was playing a gig, and a guy asked me if he could record a video so he could use it to learn how to play the songs I was performing. I figured I should just offer to teach him with some
hands-on lessons. I really enjoyed doing it and so I wanted to offer lessons to others who might also be interested.

Hi! Thank you for your interest in studying with me.

My name is Elisa and I am a Berklee College of Music alumni with a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance and Jazz Composition, and a minor in Conducting—Contemporary Track—. I have played guitar for 15 years, taught guitar and music lessons for over 5 years, and have a 10+ years experience with live performance in different genres (rock, jazz, pop and musical theatre).

I enjoy teaching, in all its aspects. I like giving lessons and advice, motivating and helping students so that they can get the most out of a lesson, in a one on one as well as in a classroom environment. If I find myself unprepared in front of students’ questions, I do my best to provide a satisfactory answer. I like being challenged and conducting further research about what my students would like to know. I love working with people of all ages, from children to adults, and with different goals in music.

About Elisa
Elisa is a guitarist, composer, arranger and conductor based in Boston, MA.

Despite not being born in a family of musicians, Elisa's musical talent manifested itself since she was a little girl. During preschool and elementary school, her natural inclination towards music was evident in her music classes, where she would play one of those plastic Yamaha recorders that were so popular in schools in the 1990s. Her musicality, sense of rhythm and dynamics were prematurely developed.

Elisa got her hands on a guitar for the first time when she was 11 years old. Her dad bought her a nylon string Yamaha C-60 for Christmas, and, soon after, she started taking lessons with a classical guitar player and teacher, Ugo De Panfilis. With Ugo, she prepared to audition for the Conservatory of Music of L'Aquila "Alfredo Casella", which she entered
a couple of years later. At the conservatory, she studied classical guitar with Maestro Filippo Rizzuto and Maestro Riccardo Fiori, and she studied choir repertoire and music with Maestra Rosalinda Di Marco. From the same institution, she obtained a Solfege License, studying with Maestro Claudio Contrevi, and a 5-year Diploma in Classical Guitar.

While attending the Conservatory and high school at the same time, Elisa bought an electric guitar and started her own rock band, Madness Waters, with her friend, bass player and mechanical engineer, Francesco Pignatelli. With the band, she played numerous shows, went on tour and recorded four demos, one of which sponsored by Icarus School of Music of L'Aquila. After high school, she attended the University of L'Aquila, where she got a "110 e lode"—the highest score and laude one could achieve—Bachelor Degree in Linguistic and Intercultural Communication, majoring in English and minoring in Spanish. In the meanwhile, she was still playing, recording and touring with Madness Waters.

After graduating University of L'Aquila, Elisa auditioned for and got accepted into Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Before moving to the United States, she took jazz guitar lessons with Italian guitar player Gianfranco Di Giovanni at Icarus Music Academy in L'Aquila, Italy, where she got the chance to attend a clinic with TV-famous Italian guitarist Luca Colombo and get a private lesson from U.S. American guitar player Neil Zaza, hosted by Icarus and guitar player Michael Petruzziello. She then moved to the United States, in May 2015, and has recently graduated Berklee College of Music.

My name is Peter Gardner, and I am an English professor and professional clarinetist, teaching at Berklee College of Music. Elisa was one of our English tutors in the Liberal Arts Department at the college for four years, and she was one of the most engaging and productive tutors I have supervised in my 35 years running the tutoring program. She is bright, conscientious, gregarious, and humorous and, simply, a wonderful person to be around. She is a natural born teacher and connects very well with her students, both on a personal and academic level. I also know her to be an excellent musician, with an extensive background in both performing and teaching, and well-versed in all styles of guitar playing. I cannot speak highly enough about Elisa as a person, a teacher, and an artist. I recommend her to you, at whatever level you're at, as much as I have ever recommended anyone!
