I like to take pride in making my students feel secure and knowing and seeing the improvement they make within each session. I will be handing out a materials list prior to our lessons. Most students see a huge leap in drawing within the the first lesson! Class starts out usually with me giving a 1 hour demonstration on what I expect them to do as I cover and explain my entire process and thought and calculations that goes into drawing and painting. For the rest of the class I will be besides the student as they work giving them one on one pointers and as much help and explanation as they need in order to improve. Students start out with learning how to look and draw what they observe accurately by first working on simple geometric shapes such as spheres, cubes. We then will move on to Cast studies and after a few months of studying we will start on figures and portraits.
About Kai Lun

Being trained in China's most prestigious and renowned fine arts academy, CAFA (China Central Academy of Fine ArtsI) as well as studying in Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, Shanghai Art and Design Academy, and Ruth Asawa School of the Arts, I offer art classes in traditional realistic painting and drawing techniques, both Online and in my studio I set up within my studio.
Students of all levels are welcome. From beginners who love art and drawing but who have not had formal training, to experienced artists who want to gain a more solid grasp of fundamental principles, historical training methods lead to significant skill development within a few months of teaching.

I provide classical instruction in portraiture, still life and landscape in your studio or mine. In this traditional approach to drawing and painting, what will be taught and focused upon are perspective, value and composition in order for the student to develop strong visual language skills. The program of study begins with a specific focus on drawing, since drawing is the foundation upon which all great traditional art is built. Throughout this training, emphasis will be placed on accuracy, or more specifically, seeing and rendering correctly such things as line quality, hard and soft edges, proportion, positive and negative space through abstract form and the use of the full range of values.
About Jeff
The program of study for drawing will include: Demonstration of one, two and three point perspective, creating the nine step value scale, cast drawing in charcoal, the still life in charcoal and drawing the portrait. The topic of composition will also be covered. I’ve done commissioned work for Audi, the Norman Rockwell Museum, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the American Repertory Theater, the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, Kessler Financial Ser
