I've been teaching drawing classes to students of all ages and group sizes for the last 6 years. In my Drawing lessons we'll learn about basic technical concepts and techniques with different tools. We'll discuss how to apply those techniques to different images and scenes, and how to use them most effectively. Well also learn from classic pieces of art and historic artists. Lessons can also be tailored towards students individual interests while also giving a well rounded education.

About Eli

Hello! I am a professional artist and art teacher with 6 years of education experience. Previously I studied Studio Art at SUNY Binghamton. I've had my artwork hung in galleries, offices, restaurants and other venues around the Boston area. I've been hired for murals, book illustrations, private

We started with the lessons being in-home but have transitioned to online and those have been working out great too.

Age-Appropriate areas of instruction include:
-Painting Techniques such as Layering, Mixing, Washes, and Glazing.
-Understanding Composition.
-Understanding Color Theory: Opposites or “complementary colors” on the color wheel; Painting with medium tones, so that highlights and shadows can be applied easily. Using multiple colors equals “depth” and “interest.”
-How to Mix Paint: Mixing using the palette knife, brush, on palette, or on painting.

We are all artists-in-progress because, no matter how good we are, we can always get better!

I love art and I love teaching art! I am a graduate of The Art Institute and an artist and animator that creates in pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, and digital mediums.

I recommend that classes are *at least* 1.5 hours (and I really recommend 2 hours!) because that's what's needed to critique homework assignments, warmup, and do the work for the class, and not be rushed.

Hello! I am delighted that you have an interest in learning how to draw, and I am excited to teach you! After receiving my BFA in Drawing through Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, I then went on to study in Leicester England. There, I completed my MA in Art Museum and Gallery Studies with a focus on museum education. Since then, I have been teaching art and languages both online and in-person.

Our lessons can either focus entirely on techniques, or we can incorporate an understanding of art history and a variety of subject matter while still keeping a technical focus on crafting foundational skills (shading techniques, perspective, contour drawings, self-portraits, still life drawing, and more).

At the moment, lessons will all be virtual, but that doesn't mean we need to stay indoors. I encourage venturing outside (safely) if that is of interest to you.

About Pia

Hello! Welcome to my virtual classroom! My name is Pia, and I have been teaching Art since 2009 and English and Italian since 2017. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and take great pride in what I do. I have my MA from University of Leicester in Art Museum and Gallery Studies. I have also receive

Adam is a great at teacher! He is so patient with me and helps me to progress at my own pace without feeling like I am lagging behind. He also encourages me when I feel like I am not doing well and he helps me to hone in on specific skills that I need to practice further.
