What most schools skip over is the ability to speak foreign language, an opportunity that often doesn't come until you live in another country. Instead of trying out route conversational patterns, I start with what makes people smile. My goal is to find out my students' interests and talk about them together, developing vocabulary, confidence, and the ability to explain ourselves even when we don't have the exact words. We can also study for exams, read french novels, and learn correct grammar.

About Walker
Working with teens and adults, I'm learning that language is about connection. What do you connect to in this culture, in these sounds, this perspective? Language expands our power to connect with the world. Sometimes that means enjoying foreign cartoons, at other times making conversation in another country, maybe even reading and writing tweets across the globe. Whatever your motivation may be, I am here to encourage and guide your growth and goals. I've studied and lived in both France and Japan, and built relationships with acquaintances and long term friends alike through these languages. Tutoring I began first with fellow students at DePaul in 2012, facilitating round table discussion with exchange students, and working as an English conversation partner. Since then I've been leading group classes with homeschool students in a Chica
go Co-Op, as well as with private clients in person and online. There is great wonder in language and crossing into new territory; this drives me to share what I have learned with all the people who want to learn too. Focus and determination, along with the right resources and support, can bring you towards your goals. I am here to help.

Thank you very much for helping me, You are one of the best tutor which I had during my study at ELA(DePaul Language Academy). Walker has a great personality and patient for teaching his students the best language skills. Walker`s subjects is not only enhances the language skills, but also the way how a student has to interact with environment which he lives in. He uses different teaching approaches such as games, sports conversation , and deep cultural conversation to make a student gain enough self-confidence to use the language properly. Besides that, his correct use of language skills enhances the students capability for taking more space, and feel more comfortable using the language. Thank you for teaching me English, thank you for making me feel comfortable while I am talking mine 6th language. The most important part of his tutoring sections is the way who he provides the information about the cultural environment, so to help the students to be solid against any culture shock waves. Thank you again for being such a great tutor. Thank you for encouragements, They helped me to feel more confidence while I am using the language for my academic purpose and among my friends.

Walker is an awesome instructor. He's funny and warm and practicing conversation is always something I looked forward to! He's hands-down my favourite tutor I've ever had. As Japanese is such a complicated language, that's saying a lot. I had tons of problems with grammatical rules and Walker really made me feel at ease with his easy to understand explanations. I learned more Japanese in our weekly conversation sessions than I did in a year of my college classes. ウォーカー先生、ありがとうございます!^ - ^

I took four years of French, including one AP credit, in high school. I earned As in all four years. I have been abroad several times in my life, one summer I even took a trip to France where I stayed exclusively with a French family.
I am familiar with all the regular verb conjugations and many of the irregular ones as well. My vocabulary is fairly extensive and my strength is conversational language.

About David
My name is David and I'm a professional musician who just moved to North Austin. I came from Cincinnati, where I went to the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, taught dozens of students at all levels and played regular gigs every weekend. I have been teaching for over fifteen years, and I'm looking to get a few new students.
I teach guitar, piano, bass guitar and even upright bass. If it's a tutor you are looking for I can also teach music theory and appreciation. I have a knack for teaching young people, probably because I was young when I started my musical journey. I've been very successful at inspiring a student's love of music and instilling the patience required to take on the challenge of playing an instrument.
The first thing I like to do is get to know you, the music you enjoy and your goals. In a way, I l
ike to begin by letting the student lead.
In addition to learning from you, I intend to present you with new information, to try and broaden your musical tastes and teach you how to be an active listener.

I have vast experience in teaching French as a second language. I taught it for many years in my home country, Portugal, to middle and high schoolers and am currently tutoring the language. I love the sound of the French language and the way it can convey different emotions. French is the language of love, art and literature. Let me help you develop your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. We will make a great journey together.

About Helena
I am a native speaker of Portuguese and got my degree in English (ESL) and French Teaching in my home country, Portugal. I have been teaching foreign languages and ESL for more than 20 years and am comfortable working with all age groups. I taught 17 years in Portugal (ESL and French; 6-12 grades and Adult Education Programs) and ever since I moved to the US in 2010 (Portuguese and Spanish in a corporation, and tutoring all four languages at home or online). I am a very patient, motivated and enthusiastic teacher and I always adjust my teaching methods to the student's age, needs and purpose. I never give up on a student and I am sure I can help him/her attain his/her full potential. "Bonjour" and "Bievenue" to French tutoring! As an international singer, I can teach you the ins and outs of French so that you sound like a local, and can keep up in class or when you study abroad. We'll work on grammar, making up your own sentences, practicing conversations, and improving your pronunciation so you sound like a true francophone.

About Nicole
Nicole is available to teach lessons for students of all levels. Beginning her singing career when she was 7, she most recently sang at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, was a winner of the international CS Competition in musical theatre, and is a Chicago F.A.M.E. finalist for Jazz and popular music. Combined with her training and professional experience, Nicole teaches singers to switch gracefully between multiple styles. She practices what she preaches: one night she might be singing Beyoncé, and the next morning she might be singing Handel's Messiah!

Nicole has been a young artist for Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre, Metropolitan International Music Festival, and for Tiroler Opern Programm, under international instructors, including Elizabeth Bachman (from the Metropolitan Opera), Kim Josephson (Metropolitan Opera), Sharon Cheng (Caramoor),
Michael Fennely (Carnegie Hall), Wei-En Hsu (Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra), and Candace Evans (Santa Fe Opera). Nicole earned her Associates in Theatre from Brigham Young University ('12) and went on to acquire her BM in Vocal Performance from Illinois Wesleyan University ('14). Nicole obtained additional training from Boston University, Elon University, and the University of Alaska Anchorage.

I am a native French speaker who knows how to make my lessons challenging, interesting, but most importantly, FUN!

About Hajar
Bonjour! Je m’appelle Haj!

I am originally from Casablanca, Morocco, but I studied in the French educational system from elementary until high school. I recently graduated from Hawaii Pacific University with a Bachelors Degree in International Relations and Philosophy, and I am now pursuing my Masters degree in American University.

I speak 4 languages, and French is my native language. I have been giving French lessons for 3 years, and my students’ reading, speaking, listening and writing abilities have significantly improved. I like to make my lessons challenging but also fun, because I believe that the human brain acquires languages easily when it is positively stimulated. I currently work at a startup that applies artificial intelligence to language learning, so I also know a lot of tips that will make you learn French faster and m
