About Tyler J.
CloseTogether we will play and begin to understand a multitude of styles and techniques, the role of the guitar pickup and their many styles, uses, and purposes, the amplifier and how it is part of your instrument, and how to utilize effect pedals in your guitar signal chain.
If you're a beginner, we're going to focus most specifically on your guitar playing abilities, including your rhythm, ear training, we'll learn chords, basic fretboard theory and how to fully utilize your entire guitar neck.
If you're a more advanced player, we'll focus on more advanced rhythms and ear training, picking techniques, fingerpicking, more advanced harmony and chord voicings, reading music, extended chords, and getting into effect pedals, and which ones to utilize for yourself.
I have found the best approach to doing this is by selecting music that you like to listen to and play, as it is much more fun to practice something that you enjoy rather than doing busywork to build skill.
About Tyler
Throughout my career, I've been able to do some great things with music. I have been able to travel Europe and work with one of the world's finest brass instrument manufacturers, Michael Rath, I have toured Colombia with my University's Wind Ensemble, I've recorded at Capitol Records in Hollywo
I have an affinity for modern and avant garde music, but am well-versed in all genres and musical styles! I also like to play in and record rock and roll bands, I've amassed a quite a few years of recording experience as well. From gypsy bands to thrash metal groups, I've recorded a wide array of music.
I also taught in the classroom from grades k-12 for a few years before following my true passion of teaching privately. I love to reach you at your own level and work to grow with you from there.
My goal is simple: I simply want you to come to love music as much as I do, if not more! I strive to give you the tools to become a successful musician in your own right, and I work to keep my lessons fun and engaging.

The reason I always believed in private lessons is because no matter how few or how many you take, the learning process gets expedited immensely.
I definitely would recommend this teacher for learning a brass instrument.

Most music teachers from stores will give you a very standard non-personalized approach to teaching. My style of teaching focuses on the student's goals and needs. I teach Guitar, Bass, and Ukulele. I also teach songwriting skills, good practice habits, and stage presence/performance tips, the necessary skills required to be an original performing artist that I developed with my own experience pursuing a music career

If you're looking for someone to teach you the nuts and bolts of music theory you might want to look elsewhere, but if you want to learn to play guitar for someone who's played in numerous rock bands on the road and in the studio and leads music every week at a large church, I'm your guy! I have a ton of experience and am eager to help you learn what you want to learn.
About Nathan
I play acoustic and electric guitar, and I'm very eager to pass on what I know to students! I've been teaching on a more casual level for years, but I'm new to teaching music professionally. If you're looking for a flexible, honest, and encouraging teacher who has experience playing some of the largest clubs in the country, recording albums with industry professionals, leading worship at large churches, and has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in music, I might be the teacher for you!
