Lets have fun moving and grooving whether we are going over the very basics, or creating our own choreography.

About Kendra
I have been immersed in music and the arts since before I can remember. The more I experience music, the more I want to share my knowledge and talent with people of all ages, from five year old kids to grandparents, complete beginners to professionals.
I believe that every person has a story, and no matter how small or big, music always plays a part, so here is my story.

I was born in the United States, but only lived here for 4 years before moving overseas to a country called Azerbaijan, where I lived with my family for 14 years. In Azerbaijan I studied at a private music and ballet school under the instruction of many well known Russian and Azerbaijani professional musicians, while also learning the language at the same time. After becoming fluent in Azerbaijani I continued to study music at home with my mother. She is a profes
sional flute player, but I chose to learn guitar and singing from her while still keeping up my studies in dance. At the age of 15 I had already performed singing and dancing on television and the radio many times.

When I turned 17 and graduated from high school I spent six months in Australia, Sri Lanka, and India, working with a non profit organization performing tsunami relief work. In India I also gained experience in teaching music and dance to large crowds of little children at the schools, orphanages, and relief camps I visited. Seeing the joy and life that these simple music lessons brought these children is what inspired me to continue studying music and begin teaching.

I turned 18 in 2005 and moved to Seattle to study music at Seattle Pacific University. I specialized in vocals and music technology, while also teaching lessons on the side in both guitar and vocals. During my four years in Seattle I played in several bands, and really developed my skills as a song writer and recording artist. After graduating with my Bachelors degree, I moved to San Francisco in 2009 to pursue my music there and teach children and adults of all ages.

Now I live in Venice California with my bandmate and fiance, where we are signed to one of the top management companies in Los Angeles. It was hard to leave my students that I had in San Francisco, but I am looking forward to having new students to teach and share my passion of music with here in Venice.

*** Lesson Details ***
Music is a universal language, and knows no age limitations, like wise I enjoy teaching students of all ages, 5 years old and up. I believe that music lessons should be challenging and fun, weather you are looking to take lessons with a specific event or goal in mind, or you simply woke up one morning and decided today is the day for you to learn something new and exciting. Depending on the students abilities and personal goals, I create a unique curriculum plan for each individual, and adapt my own teaching methods to the needs of the student. I am a positive and outgoing person, and I use encouragement and hard work on my own part to motivate my students. I have experience in all different genres of music, and I guarantee that after taking guitar or vocal lessons with me for only 3 months, you will have gained confidence and improved leaps and bounds from where we started.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Home studio--- Private magical bungalow right off of Abbot Kinney, equipped with instruments and recording gear.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide a learners guitar, ukulele, and percussion instruments if the lessons are at my own home, otherwise I expect the student to have access to their own musical instrument. For vocal lessons I have various levels of music and songs for every genre, as well as microphones and small amps for rock lessons.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in vocals and song writing, I have professional experience performing and teaching vocal styles from classical to contemporary, opera to rock.
I also specialize in teaching beginning to intermediate guitar and ukulele.

Lovely and wonderful!

Kendra is a wonderful instructor. As a woman trying to attain goals I made since I was a child, Kendra has done everything she can to instruct and teach me piano/music that is relevant to my objectives. She has taught me much more than just reading music and touching piano keys. It's been lovely to see her every week. I look forward to our lessons. Thanks so much Kendra!

grandmother to Lily

Kendra continues to be the highlight of the week for my 7 year old grand daughter Lily. I gave Lily singing lessons for Christmas, and she continues to get a gift each week as Kendra helps her make progress in a very positive and gentle way. Kendra keeps things moving with new songs every session and even changes things up with some keyboard techniques to support Lily's beginning to read music. This singing time with Kendra has been a wonderful overall experience. She is the BEST!

I've been a Hip-hop dancer for 10 years and have training from Beyonce, Justin Bieber, & Usher's choreographers. I'll have you looking like a Step Up dancer in no time! I specialize in popping, waving, gliding, isolations, and tutting with an emphasis on musicality.

You'll learn the foundation of Hip-hop movements then how to perform choreography and freestyle, so you can adapt the moves to any song. We'll learn a different piece of unique choreography every lesson while going through each element of the routine at your own pace.

About Jared
I've been dancing for 10 years and teaching for 3. I currently teach at 5 different studios and give regular private lessons to various students. I've taken workshops and classes from the best dancers in the industry today including Matt Steffanina, Marty Kudelka, Jaquel Knight, Ysabelle Capitule, Nick Demoura, and many more. Their credits include Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, and the Step Up movies.

In my class, I'll give you a warm-up to understand the style of movements that are essential to Hip-Hop and then we'll jump right into my choreography going at whatever pace is comfortable for you. Once you're a regular student, I'll make unique routines to songs of your choosing with an emphasis on moves or styles that you like.

I created this dance class for you as a way to express femininity, sensuality and emotions with boldness. If you want to be more confident with dancing in high heels, this could be a good chance for you to practice. My dance class will be held in a slow pace, allowing many mistakes, and dedicated to your fun! The type of dance is a combination of heels choreography and commercial Hip Hop dance. We will start with warming up and stretching, then proceeds to walking practice with heels and learning a choreography. Please bring high heels with stable ankle support. If you are not comfortable with high heels, sneakers are also fine! All levels and genders are welcome!

About Maria
I am trained in Hip Hop, Jazz and Ballet, and have performed in clubs, theatres, and public places since 2012, under dance studios like On Stage in Hamburg and Flying Steps Academy in Berlin, Germany. My dance style can be wrapped up in these three keywords: Swag, Smooth and Sexy.

In 2016, I obtained a Hip Hop dance trainer license from Gina Workshops Dance Institute in Hamburg where I learned the history and various styles of Hip Hop dance, and how to conduct an effective dance class to help students understanding the technique and artistry of dance.

I was also actively participating in regional and national dance competitions. Together with the formation Holy Grail from Tybas Dance Center I won the Germany National Hip Hop championship organized by DTHO in 2016.

I moved to Boston in early 2018 and would love to share with othe
rs how dance as a creative expression is amazing in every way. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to take this benefit for your own personal growth and health.

Now, imagine yourself at a wedding, a party or even on a hot date and someone asks you to dance, show off your moves! How would you feel? Maybe you’re too shy, think you have no rhythm and you rather not embarrass yourself, in front of people.

Style Your Motion makes people feel the opposite by breaking down movements into simpler steps so that the beginner can focus on their style and rhythm. The goal we work towards with clients is being able to freestyle dance - in other words; moving to almost any song that comes on at a wedding or party. So forget all those dancers who have taken classes for years and focus on you: the person who wants to learn how to freestyle dance and of course look good doing it!

Since opening, Style Your Motion has gotten over 100 clients of which a significant amount are returning clients. They have learned the techniques needed to freestyle dance and find their style in motion. So, what is your style in motion?

About Patricia
There is this idea that some people are born with rhythm and born knowing how to dance, and some aren’t. There is also the misconception that memorizing choreography is learning how to dance. Patricia believes that dance is a form of expression that can help people from all backgrounds not only work out but also find their own style in motion.

As a kid, Patricia always had a passion for dance but her father who raised both her brother and her alone couldn’t afford to pay for dance lessons. She did not know where or how to begin, so she watched and imitated her brother pop locking, waving, and (as she would say) “his attempts to break dance” every chance I had. Patricia was around 10 years old when she saw her brother practicing in their living-room where there was a mirror that covered up an entire wall. Her brother would repeatedly pl
ay the song practicing his dance to which amazed Patricia how cool and unnatural his moves were.

When Patricia went off to middle school, her desire to dance was still there. Her passion for hip-hop, pop lock, and freestyle dance were still in her, even though she was terrible at it at the time. Around that time you tube became about, so she started watching great dancers pop locking, breakdancing and bone breaking, to any song. Her other big inspiration was Michael Jackson, especially his Billie Jean performance, you know the one where he introduces the moonwalk for the first time and on top of that dancing alone on stage without any background dancers. Although my brother made fun of me when he caught me trying to do the wave and pop, she kept practicing and practicing. She watched herself improve little by little until her wave and pop were on point.

Looking back on my story She realized she was never good at dancing until she started practicing and watching myself in the mirror. “Anyone can dance, it’s all about looking deep inside. - Patty

Patricia did a fun and energetic hip-hop class at my company event. I enjoyed it so much I asked her to organize a hip hop routine for my 9 y.o. daughter's birthday party. Patricia worked with me to prepare a song and a routine suitable for kids' level and interest, and was extremely nice and attentive to details. She was great with the kids. Everyone loved the party, and I got a lot of compliments. My daughter said it was the best birthday ever!

She also tried to address individual needs as much as possible. I went from being self conscious to getting more comfortable and having fun!
