icating himself to learning the guitar. Right away we could tell that he developed a confidence and excitement for guitar and music. Even as early as his first lesson he was playing chords to a song! We weren't aware of this but now we have learned that our son Charlie wants to learn "heavy metal". Brian has informed us that he can teach Charlie any style of guitar that he wants to learn. I am happy knowing that our son has a good role model that can help him along his musical path, whichever direction it takes him. I highly recommend Brian as a guitar teache"

dam's apple up in my Brain! I started out singing with my church choir, then my church band. My music director said I Should Take some lessons. He gave me Corens number and I set up a lesson for the following Thursday.
I got to the lesson and I was shaking. I've always been an Actor and I've always had this mental block about my voice. But After talking to her, Within the first 5 minutes she had already had me laughing and relaxing in my chair. She not only showed me how to use my vocals, she explained (In Detail) why and what was making my voice tighten up in the first place. She understood everything that my vocal cords were doing.
I would certainly say that Coren goes the extra mile when it comes to training the voice. And she has one of the biggest hearts on this planet! There were many lessons I had with her where I would Just be in tears because I had a mental block about my voice. But Coren would not let me stay there. She Believed in me and she got me out of my mental patterns.
I owe a lot to this women and I couldn't be more Grateful that I have the opportunity to study under her!"

For Beginner students: we will start by exploring rhythm concepts and understanding how to read music. Learning the physics of the guitar and exploring the notes in the first few positions. Learning open position chords, and simple chords progressions, major and pentatonic scales,etc.
For Intermediate students: we will continue expanding our knowledge of the higher positions of the guitar, as well as develop better sight-reading skills. Bar cords and chord transposition, and music theory. Expanding our scalar vocabulary to modes, and minor scales. Learning arpeggios and classical etudes.
For Advance students: Close interval voicings, jazz improvisation, chord to scale relationships, and harmonic substitutions are some of the concepts we will cover. Learning solo guitar playing (chord melody), incorporating walking bass lines, transcription skill and arranging skills.

Hi! My name is Mike and I am 26 years old. I have been playing guitar now for about 13 years. I am a national touring guitar player in the band Letters From The Fire. We recently returned from a national tour with Trapt, Pop Evil, Nonpoint etc. I have been on 10 major national tours and have played every state in the U.S. except Hawaii and Alaska.
I currently teach lesson in the South Bay Area, CA. My focus has been producing and song writing for film and television. I have taken it upon my self, as a product of the local music scene, to give back and help out younger bands get to t
he next level in the way they conduct themselves as musicians and in their songwriting.

*** Lesson Details *** As a self taught musician, I know it is important to take away all of the smoke and mirrors of the instrument. It is not impossible and you can, with practice and dedication, be a great musician. I also find it necessary to make lessons fun and entertaining. Though technique is important, it is important that you enjoy playing and practicing.
I am a very laid back teacher as long as you are doing your job :) My teaching style does cater to different skill levels as well as the material you would like to learn.
I hope to make this a fun and stress free environment for anyone. You can not learn an instrument if you are afraid of your teacher and your instrument.

Michael has been a great teacher for our 7 year old son. This was the first time our son is learning guitar, and Michael got him started on the right foot. He makes the lessons fun and interesting and keeps the positive energy flowing.

My 7 year old has been taking guitar lessons from Mike for the past 4 months. It has been an amazingly positive experience for my kid. He has learnt a great deal in such a short time all thanks to Mike's exceptional professionalism, patience and encouragement. He is very observant and is able to spot the problem areas right away, as a result, my kid is learning the right techniques from the get-go. He has the unique ability to tailor the lessons for the student and make the class very enjoyable. My kid looks forward to his lessons every week and doesn't want to stop at the end of the class :-) He is a very motivating teacher and sets high standards and my kid is eager to practice at home, so he can impress Mike at the next class!!

The best teacher I've ever had, an amazing guitarist and nice guy!
I've tried guitar lessons in the past from nearly a half dozen instructors. I'd pick up bits and pieces then go off on my own as it seemed many were more interested in pushing a style or agenda than actually helping me improve what I had (bad as it was), firm up fundamentals, and help me really progress with the styles and goals I had in mind.
Well, all that changed when I met Mike. In the first lesson with him I got more out of it than from all my past lessons combined. I thought there was no way this could continue, but every time I leave a lesson with Mike I'm blown away by the progress and by how quickly he gets to the root of what I need to change.
His patience, professionalism and great attitude also make him a fun person to hang out with and the lessons feel more like kicking it with a brilliant friend. He's also amazing with children and has my 9 year old begging to take lessons with him.
My only hesitation in writing this review is that if everyone knew how good he is, he might not have the schedule flexibility when my work gets in the way. Still, I can't let my selfishness stand in the way of his success and anyone that is fortunate enough to have time with Mike is in for a rare find in the world of music!
Melody's guitar lesson, include guitar techniques and music theory. Lesson package includes: 35 basic guitar chords, strumming patterns, fingerstyle accompaniment, and students' prefered song as playing and singing exercise. Goal: students will be able to play and sing pop songs with appropriate accompaniment techniques, feel success and accomplishment from the learning experience. I had a really nice first lesson with Virginia. This is my first time using take lessons. I purchased a package of five 30 minutes lessons.
Upon meeting Victoria I noticed she is a good mixture of personable and caring but is experienced enough to make sure that the lesson has focus. At the beginning of our session, we introduced ourselves and then Virgina challenged me to translate what I had told her in to cantonese. From there we discussed principles, sentence structure and vocabulary. It was fun! Im looking forward to my next lesson.

Virginia is a fantastic Paino teacher. She is very knowledgeable and has taught my daughter the right way to learn the Piano. After just a few lessons I could notice the improvements. Hi there! I am really excited that you've decided to take music lessons and are here on my page looking for an awesome teacher. I have lots of experience in music and I can't wait to teach it to someone else, whether they're a kid or an adult.
Currently I am attending graduate school for a Masters in Public Health so I can save the world later. ;) My undergraduate degree was in psychology. I've spent a lot of time in school and music has been the one medium through which I have relieved stressed and made myself happy, inspired, and relaxed. While going to school, I also continued my music
by being a teacher as well as helping out with the university orchestra.
Started music at a young age of 8, with my first instrument being the Flute followed by the Piano. Because I began music with a teacher who was studying music academically, I have a very strong background in theory, technique, and tone. At the same time, I really think its all about having fun and loving what you play/learn.
I have taught adults and children so I do feel comfortable with any age group. I also have a pretty vast repertoire of different books and pieces that I use for different levels and ages.
My philosophy is for the learning/teaching experience to be a complete collaboration between me and the student. I am tough with certain things because I know they're super important to master but I like to also bend certain rules so that my student is happy with the classes.
