My style of teaching is to teach each child one step at a time, through method training. Each child/Adult has their own learning curve and I adjust accordingly. Each lesson is fun and yet a learning time. I love teaching and it feeds every day. I always can see more students.

EDUCATION My musical education began while sitting on my mother's lap as she taught piano lessons. I began studying cello with a member of the Kansas City Philharmonic at age 9, and at age ten, I followed in my mother's footsteps to play the flute. I played all three instruments, (piano, cello and flute) until high school when it was became clear to me that I wanted to be an orchestra teacher. With this dream in mind, I began playing the violin as well. I graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor's in Music Education in 1989 and again in 1999 with a Master's degree. As a performer, Chris maintains a healthy balance of classical and non-classical music. He is Assistant Principal Cellist of the Dana Point Symphony and Principal Cellist of Symphony Irvine, and has performed with the Montage Civic Orchestra, Orange Coast College Orchestra, Irvine Valley College Orchestra, and Crystal Cathedral Hour of Power Orchestra. Chris is cellist of the Belmont String Quartet and co-founded a cello quartet, Love4Cello. Chris has also recorded on soundtracks for numerous student films, most notably as solo cellist for Mitsuyo Miyazakiâs Tsuyako. I am a 4th year college student currently in the process of finishing my final year and receiving my Bachelor of the Arts degree in Music. I have prior experience in teaching single musicians and small chamber groups. My primary instrument is Cello, but I have studied Violin and Viola in theory during my time studying towards my degree. I also have experience in teaching Music Theory up to College level and I have slight experience in teaching vocalist. My primary teaching focus would be to teach String player (Violinist, Violist, and Cellist).
