Wednesday June 7th: Talking about occupations: What people do at work and where they work - Vocabulary for this class will be common occupations. You will practice conjugating verbs in the present tense to describe what people do at work.You will also use the verb "estar" to tell where people work. Finally, you will connect the theme to your personal life by using the verb "conocer" and telling your classmates if you know people who work in these professions.You will also ask your classmates what they do at their jobs and where they work.You can prepare for the class by studying common occupations and common verbs. You should also know the conjugations for "estar" and "conocer".
Wednesday June 14th: Talking about clothing and what you usually wear every day and on trips: Vocabulary for this class will be articles of clothing and accessories, seasons of the year and vacation activities. You will practice using the present tense to talk about clothing that you usually/sometimes/never wear using the verb "usar". Also, you will talk about clothing that you wear in specific seasons. Finally, you will ask your classmates what type of clothing they pack when they go on trips to different cities. You can prepare for the class by practicing clothing vocabulary and conjugating the verb "usar".
Wednesday June 21st: Talking about common problems and giving advice: Vocabulary for this class will be the be the verbs "deber", "tener que" and "necesitar". You will ask your classmates what problems they have in their lifes and give them advice on how to solve them. Problems may be concerning work, money, family, friends, etc. You should prepare for the class by writing down several example problems that you could talk about (they don't have to be real - it's only to practice speaking). You can also practice conjugating the verbs we will use in the lesson.
Wednesday June 28th: Talking and asking about future plans using "ir": Vocabulary for this class will be common leisure activities, days of the week and specific times of the day. You will use the verb "ir" to indicate future plans. Your classmates will ask you about your future plans and you will answer and ask them about theirs. To prepare for this class, you should practice common verbs for hobbies and daily activities. You should also know the conjugation for "ir" and the days of the week. You can make a list of your future activities to help prepare for class. They can be this week, month, year or even further in the future.
