Description

In this group piano class, you’ll learn the basics of written music and how it applies to piano for beginners. Your instructor will discuss how to read music notes before you begin playing and will go through one song before the end of the class. Learning to read music is a skill that requires nearly as much practice as playing the piano itself, so you’ll greatly benefit from attending this informative class!

I am a pianist and singer who started learning to play the piano at age 6, and I love teaching all students of all experience levels. Professionally, I have worked with different theater and opera companies as a lead actor and as a musician. I have also worked in many different church positions as a musician and singer. I have many years of teaching experience with piano at all experience levels.

I teach how to read music, understand the theory behind the music, and the technique needed in a patient atmosphere at the pace of the student. I also teach you how the piano works and the different types of pianos as well as the history of keyboards used for different classical music. The lessons are geared toward the goals of the student no matter what level is desired. I can't wait to work with you!

I have always been fascinated with how music is created and who works behind the scenes of performances and recordings. I started playing the flute in elementary school, piano in junior high school, and singing in high school. I have been teaching for over ten years now. Working with students both in person and online has been amazing. With online lessons I am able to work with students who love the convenience of being at home and in person I can show students what it is like to really grow! I love my students of all ages, and can only hope to show others how amazing music can be. I have worked with a handful of students with special needs and am comfortable teaching in a non-traditional style. I am currently preparing to complete my certification in music therapy. Those who can do teach, and those who can teach totally do!

I have been teaching students for six years. People aren't intimidated when I am around and I believe students benefit greatly when they are comfortable with the teacher and can feel natural around them. The teaching process is most successful when the students share their ideas, disagreements, goals; when they are challenged and test their abilities. I can't wait to work with you!

Just like a piano, flute or violin, your voice is an instrument. The purpose of voice lessons is to help you to develop a beautiful and dynamic singing voice and also to teach you to use your voice in a healthy, age-appropriate way that will keep you singing for many years to come! As your teacher, I want our class to be more than just singing through a few songs. We will always start with some combination of warm-ups for your breath, body, and voice. Just as you wouldn't go running without first stretching and warming up your muscles, you don't want to start singing full songs without first getting your body and voice warmed up.
Warm-ups will also introduce you to new techniques for properly using your voice in a healthy and beautiful way. We will also work on expression and acting. A song isn't just pretty notes—it tells a story. If it's a song from a musical, there's a specific character that sings it. It's your job as a singer to tell the story and to make it fun and exciting for the audience. While there's a lot of hard work that goes on during a class, voice classes are lots of fun! As your teacher, I am here to encourage you, support you, and guide you in your vocal studies. I look forward to working with you soon!

I am overjoyed and grateful to say I have been playing music for more than half of my life. It has never stopped being the light in my day and now it is my hope to shed some of that light onto you or your child. I am a very friendly and fun teacher with a great deal of professionalism and patience, even more importantly I love teaching and music with a passion.

I have been playing an instrument since the 4th grade (cello) and, as I learned more about how music works, was slowly able to pick-up a greater variety instruments with an increasing degree of ease. In high school, I decided to pick-up the guitar just to "have fun and rock out". I joined a band, played in the high school orchestra, joined the high school jazz band and began to practice songwriting and cover songs. Still, it was not until after I took my first class on music theory that I knew how much I not only loved the thrill of playing music but the discovery of how it worked. With this experience I can show you or your child why learning an instrument can be not only an exciting experience but an interesting and enthralling one as well.

good experience

Jared is a perfect teacher! He is patient, nice, accommodating and never scolds when you dont get practice in. He nicely just trys to get you back on track with what you have done at that point and moves you forward at the same time. He is interested in what you want.. moves at your speed yet pushes you a little and he genuinely listens to you when you talk. He is open and will share experiences also from his life to help you and make learning fun.

Excellent teacher in every way possible!

Jared is extremely knowledgable about the craft of music. Therefore, when he teaches piano there is much thought
as well as patience for the student. He truly loves music and
that enthusiasm is motivational for the student. I look forward to my lessons each week.

Jared is a fantastic instructor. We were a little anxious about doing online music classes, but this is amazing. Jared is very patient and obviously knows how to teach music. I was impressed how well the online lesson went. My 11 year old thinks he's the coolest!
