I have been teaching math for several years now and understand the need for a good foundation. I work with students to find any concepts they have missed or do not fully understand. My goal in teaching math is always comprehension not grades. After laying a good foundation, it is amazing to see the improvement and success my students have had!
My expansive breadth of interests has led me through years of experience in the arts and natural sciences. I'm a voice instructor, math tutor, and biology teacher. Now, I'm pursuing a career in opera and vocal performance. I have extensively studied vocal performance and opera for many years and continue to add to my own technique. I have been in many operas and musical theater productions. I am currently performing in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat at the Booth Tarkington Theatre. I was a finalist in the MasterWorks Festival concerto competition. I have studied other vocal genres, such as jazz and pop. I have administered vocal lessons to every voice type at all different levels. I use the appoggio technique of breathing and believe all singing should be produced in a ...

Teaching is my passion. I have a degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Elementary Education with a concentration in mathematics. I taught two years of middle school language arts and am presently teaching third grade. I am certified to teach all academic subject areas from kindergarten through eighth grade.
I have a passion for mathematics, because it is universal, and I travel a lot. So practically, it's the one language that I can communicate with everyone with. one of the highlight of my math career was when I used the math I'd mastered to create and program an awesome automated condiment dispenser, and help a doctoral student get an 'A' on her statistics assignment upon starting our lessons just two days before the due date.
And yes, I love sharing my vast pool of mathematical intellect with anyone whose willing to 'swim' in it, by breaking it down theorem by theorem until it's an 'empty set', that I can reassemble into a more understandable and entertaining form.
~ I am a Millennium Academy graduate who breaks down all of the complexities that are found throughout math and science. I have also taught many middle-school children math and science overseas and participated in several volunteer mentoring programs throughout my community. I personally love geometry, because it is one of the easiest, but yet most challenging to students. I am patient and understanding, because I have worked with a diversity of people over the span of 16 countries throughout the world, as well as contributing to an 'A' that my doctoral student earned in her statistics assignment. I am majoring in mechanical engineering, so naturally, I maintain an exemplary study ethic that inspires my students to achieve more. All in all, I bring results. I know how to relate to my ...
I teach physics at the high school level and love how we can use math to as a language to describe the universe.
Hey! My name is Kevin. I teach physics in Lincoln Park, Chicago. Science is pretty cool, but literature and philosophy were always my first interests. I did computer science and research for a couple of years and thought I'd take my hand in teaching and absolutely fell in love with it. I also do photography and design on the side. On the weekends, I'm usually doing photoshoots or rock climbing! I have some pretty big plans for the near future, so I figured I'd do what I love while tutoring some of y'all to make those big plans happen!
