We learn new vocabulary like emission, subsidy, and incentive as well as word roots like "calc" and "asp." We talk about suffixes like -ate and how their pronunciation changes based on part of speech. We looked at the difference in pronunciation between "zh" and "sh" in words like "measure" and "shopping" as well as how voicing affects both the plural "s" and possessive "'s." We introduced the concepts of paired sounds like p/b, s/z, and k/g as well. Concepts are covered in depth in the English Conversation class.
