The reason why I called Jim was to help me with my classical guitar pieces for my ASU audition. I had very little experience in this side and of music and looking for a teacher was important. I hired Jim for an hour every Sunday the past month of January. The way he approached the music pieces and the knowledge he had was very impressive. Jim is also very patient and lets you have control over the lesson and start or suggest were to begin the lecture. I was able to lean a piece and know how to approach classical guitar thanks to Jim. There were somethings that I din't like about some of the lessons, There were times that when Jim was lecturing, he would get side tracked and forget about the topic and not even look at the music for a great majority of the hour, it was defiantly frustrating. Nonetheless, Jim is a great teacher, always appreciated when he stayed over the hour to further discus the piece. For these reasons I have decided to give Jim a four out of five rating.

I am in my second year of homeschooling and had prayed specifically for a male teacher to come alongside us and assist in our homeschooling adventure. Although my son, who is six, is not having any difficulties at the moment, homeschooling is still new to me and I was hoping I could find someone who would keep us accountable and help fill in any gaps in my son's schooling. We have found Maurice to be just what we needed. He is engaging and encouraging and has been helpful in sharing strategies and teaching techniques that foster comprehensive learning and not merely memorization.

My son has had tutors in the past, and they simply read with him, which is not what he needed. Maurice actually is teaching him in a way he can understand, and is very patient. My son is no longer on his IEP and is grade-level, thanks to Maurice.

I was disappointed that the instructors page stated she would be able to meet in my home and she is not. Trang was flexible with her schedule for us to meet at her home, but that does not suit our needs at this time. Otherwise, she was kind and accommodating with her willingness to help teach.
