Megan C.

Winston Salem, NC

About Megan

Megan is a soprano described as being “blessed with a powerful coloratura and lovely vibrato.” In addition to teaching voice and piano, Megan has performed concert and operatic roles all over the US a
nd Europe to include Notre Dame Cathedral and the Palace of Versailles and is quickly becoming a sought after soprano for lyric coloratura roles.

Megan has gained quite a following as a vocal and piano teacher, and her students consistently perform lead roles and solos, receive scholarships, give recitals, and gain entrance into college music degree programs. In addition to her degrees at UNCSA where she received the Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in voice, Megan also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from East Tennessee State University. Megan believes possessing a firm understanding of the anatomy of the human body and voice enables her to better use her instrument and thus incorporate that knowledge into her teaching.

Great with kids!

My six year old daughter has been studying with "Miss Megan" for about 8 months and we couldn't be more pleased with her progress. She loves her lessons and looks forward to her time with Megan every week. Megan brings thoughtful lesson plans and manages the time very well to include scales, basic theory, and appropriately leveled pieces. We are so excited to continue our work with Megan over the summer and into next fall.

Willy M.

Winston Salem, NC

About Willy

Willy has been teaching music for more than a decade, carrying on the tradition he learned when his father taught him piano as a youth. He is a multi-instrumentalist with a degree in music from Earlha
m College in historic Richmond, IN (the birthplace of recorded jazz, and home of 30s era Genette Records).

As a sound technician Willy gained valuable experience working at the world famous Tarry Town Music Hall near Sleepy Hollow, NY, where he worked with top notch touring bands like Blues Traveler, the Indigo Girls, Paul Shaffer, the Marshall Tucker Band, and the late, great Levon Helm. He also worked with A-list actors such as Stanley Tucci, James Cahn, Kevin Bacon and Keanu Reeves.

While living in Austin, TX, Willy was a member of the American Federation of Musicians alongside greats like Los Lonely Boys, George Straight, Lyle Lovett and Willie Nelson.

As a father of four young children, Willy teaches in a family friendly environment. At the SIW events, he has taught elementary students as well as adults all the way up to 86 years old! Willy is a background checked teacher and would love to pass on his knowledge of music to you and your family!
