Rebecca H.

Jersey City, NJ

About Rebecca

I am a versatile singer and voice teacher with more than 12 years of teaching experience. My professional performing background is in classical and opera, and I teach classical, opera, musical theater, pop and other styles to students at any age or level of study.

I also teach beginning piano and music theory/ear training.

I am fluent in German. I studied abroad extensively in Germany and Austria, and have several years of tutoring experience.

Testimonial from a student: "I worked with Rebecca H. for three years throughout high school, and during those years I grew more as a singe
r and musician than I ever could have imagined. Becky focused my training on getting a free, clear and natural sound through relaxation. This focus allowed me to find my own, unique voice, which gave me the confidence to conquer any piece I wanted to. In addition, I was very impressed with Becky's dedication to language. She worked to make sure I pronounced every word and vowel of Spanish, Italian, French or German perfectly, so that I sounded fluent. Through our work together I was accepted to one of the best music conservatories in the country: The Cleveland Institute of Music. Becky was a great teacher and mentor for me throughout high school, and although I am in college now, I still look up to her as a singer."

Becky is teaching my 10 year old daughter to sing and this is my daughter's first time taking singing lessons. Becky is very nice and patient with my daughter, and we have seen a lot of progress in just a few sessions. She knows how to make the lessons enjoyable for children, so we highly recommend her.

I really recommend this vocal teacher. She is a great professional and a very patient teacher that knows well the individual voice characteristics. Excellent technique exercises for the beginners and advanced vocalists. Awesome sight reading and solfege practices, diction exercises and foreign languages pronunciation.
