Amy D. Crystal Lake, IL

Piano has been my primary instrument since the age of 7. Typically I use Faber or Alfred curriculum as it promotes strong note reading abilities in both left and right hands and teaches good basic theory along the way. I also always include 'fun' songs too and tailor learning to each students interests and abilities. I have taken many students from not knowing a thing about piano to being able to sit down and read and play a complicated piece of music well.

About Amy

For over 10 years Amy has dedicated her time to offering full-service music lessons to both beginner and advanced students of all ages. She provides a complete lesson program where students learn every aspect of music including: history, theory, composition and technique in playing skills. *** Lesson Details *** Ms. Amy utilizes a variety of curriculum based on each students abilities, interests and learning styles. Alfred, Faber and Schaum are the most popular and are integrated with a variety of unique books and music tailored to each student. After 6 months, beginner students will have a working knowledge of reading staff music, scales and more. *** Studio Equipment *** Roland . Fender . Epiphone *** Travel Equipment *** I will bring books that the student would reimburse me for. ...

Patient Piano Teacher

I heard of Amy when I was in school, looking for a way to get better at my music. She teaches piano, voice and guitar - I was really looking for help in piano. Her teaching skills are awesome! She understands music theory incredibly well, and has clear-cut teaching methods that help you grasp concepts and make feel smarter than you are! I really do recommend her if you are looking for beginning or advanced teaching. She will take you far.
Teresa L. Ingleside, IL

Piano is the general instruction of the instrument. I have taught lessons for over 23 years where I have been traveling to the homes.
The students learn not only the general concepts but they also learn Theory which is the understanding of what lies underneath the music itself.
I have an easy going personality with the students learning how to play the piano, but I also want the students to work to their full potential.
The students learn not only the basics of the piano itself, but they also play fun songs, such as popular songs that they know.

About Teresa

I am a graduate of Northern IL University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. I have 22 years of teaching experience where I have traveled to the homes. Students enjoy my passion that I have with the instrument. I started teaching in 1991 and have been teaching several students since then. Attending teacher workshops keep me at a current updated level and I want to help the students learn to the best of their potential. *** Lesson Details *** I am very thorough in my teaching, which includes lesson, theory, technique, and performance methods. I use a very easy, flexible approach when it comes to the kids and their personalities. I expect a lot out of my students, yet still want them to learn and have fun. After three months with me, they will have learned how my

I have been taking lessons for about 4 weeks now and am thoroughly enjoying the experience with Terri. She listens to where I am, and while she is patient, challenging and encouraging, she also takes into account my schedule and my current life circumstances. As things get more challenging, we take our time, because that's what my life needs. As an adult student, I have a fairly busy life with work and other interests outside my music lessons. I appreciate Terri's flexibility with my pace, and her understanding with regard to each client as an individual with individual needs.

Vocal Training · In studio
Kimberly is the best teacher I've ever had. Growing up in Barrington, we had a wide variety of private tutors and vocal trainers. My mother once put me up for private sessions for three months before my school musical. I thought I had received good training. Thought. My mother referred me to Kimberly after hearing her sing at a venue. I perused some of her videos and I must say that I was highly impressed. I signed up for a lesson, and my vocal range increased magnanimously! I am now able to sing in octaves in which I previously was unaware existed. My range is now more comfortable than my boat shoes whilst I cigar with the boys. I would recommend Kimberly to the highest degree possible and then some. If you don't know Kimberly, you are nowhere near your potential in vocals, guitar, or even life.

Wonderful Teacher!

Hi I am Matt Ellis and I have been taking lessons with Kimberly for about 5 months. My singing ability has improved incredibly. When you sit in on a lessons with Kimberly she analyzes your voice very carefully and matches exercises to what she thinks is best for you.Personally I have had trouble with sustaining my voice for long periods of time due to vocal damage.I noticed right away after my first couple of lessons my voice just seemed healthier and in better shape with the exercises we did.Now my voice sustains better than ever! With a larger range and I now have a ear for Harmony as well. I would suggest Kimberly to anyone who wants to improve there voice and learn in a very comfortable environment.Within the first 10 minutes of my first lesson I was totally comfortable to just let loose and sing!Without being worried about my tone because she creates a very safe atmosphere for improvement. So If your looking for great lessons and a great teacher GO TO KIMBERLEY!

Voytek is unbelievably positive and flexible. I've been working with him for about 6 months, and he started me off with a great set of lessons and materials that was right for me. He always focuses on what I do well, so I want keep playing, even when things get hard. When he points out something to work on, he somehow comes across positive - more like a helpful suggestion than a critique. Voytek has been knowledgable and flexible when I want to focus on music theory or just play songs that I like. I continue to work with him and would hire him for other types of lessons.
