I majored in Spanish at Louisiana State University.I have travelled to Spanish speaking countries all over the world and would love to share with you my skills and experience! One thing I love about teaching is bringing the arts into the process of learning. We may sing in the language and even paint to help learn. I've taught younger than Kindergarten all the way to adults, so feel comfortable that you'll grow in your conversational skills, as well as, beginner vocabulary. Let me highlight that I'm passionate about "phonetics," which is the study and classification of speech sounds. In other words, you are going to learn how to sound like a native speaker when you take my class.

I am an experienced Spanish instructor (and healthcare interpreting instructor), with more than 10 years' of experience teaching Spanish at middle and high school levels, as well as the university level and business professionals. I have a master's degree in Spanish and am currently pursuing my doctorate in education, with a focus on curriculum and instruction. I have also lived abroad and attended school in Spain. I have taught Spanish to students who know nothing about the Spanish language to heritage and native speakers of Spanish looking to improve their grammatical knowledge of Spanish. I bring alot of enthusiasm to what I teach and am willing to personalize my lessons to accommodate what students are looking for (i.e. survival Spanish; review of Spanish grammar; healthcare Spanish; conversational Spanish, Spanish for travel, etc.). I have experience teaching and working with children as well as with adults. I feel comfortable teaching students in all different levels, from the beginner up to the advanced level. The typical approach that I use is a rather communicative one. I like to encourage students to speak and get engaged in real life situations.
