I have experience teaching and working with children as well as with adults. I feel comfortable teaching students in all different levels, from the beginner up to the advanced level. The typical approach that I use is a rather communicative one. I like to encourage students to speak and get engaged in real life situations.

I like to know my students, who you are and what your interests are so that I am not just your teacher, but also a friend. I like to think that I am a humorous person and it always makes me feel great when we can share a laugh or two in the class.

I’m completely bi-lingual. Raised in Mexico. Spanish Literature was a secondary subject throughout my three musical degrees. I’ve been a Spanish Diction for Los Ángeles Ópera for four of their productions.

Hello, my name is Anita and I am an enthusiastic semi- retired Spanish instructor with over 28 years of experience in Spanish instruction. A native Spanish speaker myself, born in Lima Peru and raised in the U.S., I hold a California Spanish Single Subject Teaching Credential specializing in Spanish language and Spanish literature. In addition, I possess a B.A. and M.A. in Applied Linguistics from California State University Northridge where I also minored in Spanish. I love teaching all levels of Spanish and have enjoyed working primarily with high school, college students and adults of all ages. I believe that it is never too late to acquire another language no matter your age.

So, whether you are a student preparing for exams, a world traveler who wants to communicate with the locals, or a business person who works with a Spanish speaking clientele, I am here to help you.

This is my 7th year studying Spanish, and I couldn't be happier. I teach from middle school to college level Spanish. I have knowledge with in depth grammar constructions and vocabulary. With time and practice, I can guide you to being successfully able to read, write, listen, and speak in Spanish. My lessons are custom to each students experience level, and are taught at just the right speed. Learning a second language is much more enjoyable when there is not stress involved.
