I have been playing the guitar for 15 years. As a graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University, I have been teaching guitar and ukulele lessons as well as classes since the spring of 2017. I hold a bachelor's degree in music performance with my primary instrument being the guitar.
I can help you to acquire a solid foundation of music theory knowledge. You can help to better understand music theory concepts if they are paired with guitar techniques to supplement them.
If you are a complete beginner, do not be afraid! I will help you to learn at a pace which is comfortable but still effective for you. These lessons will be focused and designed to fit YOUR needs. Let's learn together :)

I have played guitar for over 35 years professionally and currently do as well. As a music major at Broward college I studied theory and am able to apply and explain this in my teachings. i.e Rudiments, The staff guitar tabs, scales, chords, inversions, box systems, linear and horizontal scales, modes. etc. I can teach, rock, pop, classical and other genres of guitar, and have done extensive research in finger picking styles. Most importantly, when a student wants to learn a particular song, instead of showing it to them, I show them the process and give them the tools and theory behind figuring it out for themselves.

With an AA at Broward College as a Voice major and piano minor, 3 years with Gold Coast Opera chorus, Former Musical Director and lead voice instructor at Paul Green School of Rock, and over 30 years teaching mentoring and performing, I am able to offer a diverse innovative range of educational res

I highly recommend Jeff as a guitar teacher.
His method of teaching is very versatile and he is willing to create exactly what the student wants to learn. His knowledge is vast and his understanding of theory is overwhelming. So if you are undecided of which instructor to try, please look no further and give Jeff a chance to broaden your playing abilities, I'm sure glad I did.

"Gives Outstanding Lessons; Produces Excellent Video Series

I am writing a review from a couple of different perspectives, as I've received lessons from Ryan in a number of capacities. I am an intermediate-level bass player who received his initial music theory training from Ryan, and his explanations were clear and concise.

Recently, I've become a geography professor at the University of Akron, and I teach a variety of topics, including Introductory Cultural Geography. Part of this involves looking at how different types of music spread throughout the world. Ryan created an excellent video that supplemented my lecture; he thoroughly, yet very clearly, described how the spread of the minor pentatonic scale contributed to the development of heavy rock and metal music across the globe. Without this insight, my lecture would have been less accurate, as well as less entertaining to the students!

As a stringed-instrument player and a professor who includes music geography and history in his classes, I highly recommend lessons with Ryan. His descriptions and instructional method are outstanding (please see his excellent video series, "Swing's Shred Tips" on YouTube), and he also clearly demonstrates a deeper knowledge about music. Rather than just playing fast to shred, he will teach the underlying ideas behind the music to improve your playing (as he clearly demonstrated in his custom lecture on geography/history in my class). Highest possible recommendation!"

"My daughter and I both took lessons from Robert. He is a great teacher and a really great person. Robert impressed me immediately with his knowledge and proficiency on the guitar, bass, ukulele and piano, and his patience and understanding about how to teach music. Some music teachers are incredible musicians but not good teachers, but Robert is great at both.

I highly recommend Robert to anyone looking for a music teacher for any instrument, any age, any genre."
