I teach beginner to advanced students!

Hello! I have over 25 years of professional saxophone and clarinet playing experience. I've played and recorded many different styles with many different bands, orchestras, and jazz ensembles.

I teach clarinet and saxophone on all levels. I can teach beginners the basics of fingering, tone, music reading, theory, etc. I can help intermediate students advance in their playing prowess. I can get adults who haven't played in a while back into playing shape. And, for more advanced students, I can teach jazz improvisation. So, I cater my teaching to your desires and goals!

I'm able to teach adults and teenagers (age 12 and up) and I'm open to any frequency that fits your budget and desires (once a week, once every two weeks, twice a week, etc.).

I have over 20 years of teaching and playing experience, and have worked with all ages and abilities.

I am an experienced orchestral clarinetist and bass clarinetist. I can help you or your student achieve their goals through individual planning. I enjoy working on fundamentals and utilizing performance psychology practices to improve the learning outcomes for the students. I believe that teaching clarinet is like playing a sport: there is a lot that goes into the work that is challenging the student while enjoying the process.

I have taught clarinet to beginning and high school students. I have 30 years experience teaching both privately and as a band director. I know the curriculum and techniques to help you efficiently and effectively reach your goals. I have guided students through the challenges beginning and mastering the clarinet and can help you!

The most important element of becoming a musician is learning to play musically. As I lead my college students into a music profession, I remind them that I am primarily teaching them to be musicians who perform musically through their chosen instrument. This is what sets performs apart and I can help you become a better musician on saxophone, clarinet or any other instrument.

Experienced and qualified teacher of 9 years, I specialize in teaching clarinet and secondarily teach cello and piano. I welcome clarinet players of all ability levels! I am most experienced in teaching beginner/intermediate cello and piano. I believe in a positive approach to education, and believe creating a fun atmosphere will maximize student growth with their instrument. I come from a background of teaching elementary general music, band, and choir, middle school band, and high school band. I look forward to making music with you soon!
