Great Teacher

Phyllis is the best singing teacher I have ever had. She is completely knowledgeable about technique and personalizes each class for her students. Phyllis is so sweet, and believes that there is a singing voice inside of all of us. Since I have started taking lessons with her, my range has expanded and not only that, I have gained new knowledge about sheet music that I had never heard before. I would highly recommend choosing her as your teacher.

Over the last decade of teaching guitar full time to hundreds of students, my passion remains the same - teaching my students how to play the guitar, not just the songs. My own journey as a heavy metal lead guitarist and songwriter who's transitioned to classical music, folk and the blues has prepared me to teach how to play the guitar in almost every single style of music.

About Greg

For the last thirty years, from the day that I got my first electric as a teenager, to my work today as an acoustic guitarist for the band, Timberwood, and currently as a teacher of more than forty students a week, my life has been devoted to the guitar. I'm an experienced veteran of the meta

I can teach students theory, harmony, ear training, based on my education through Berklee School of Music.

About Chase

I started playing guitar when I was in the 8th grade. At that time I was into punk, and as I got older I moved into listening to classic rock, then blues, then all sorts of jazz and jam bands, and now classical and sacred art. And my playing of the guitar has following the same trajectory: I play

Chase and I did not work together long because of other commitments. However, in the short time we did work together I learned a lot. Chase is easy going, highly skilled, very patient, and his teaching style is such that it fosters student confidence. I was really nervous at first, because I wasn't sure what to expect. Chase quickly made me feel at ease during the lesson. We only had half hour lessons, but that was definitely enough time to learn new materiel and make progress. I highly recommend him for guitar lessons.

My son is 7 and really seems to like Chase. He came well prepared and finally someone has started to teach him some rock songs .

An Excellent Teacher!

Our daughter Charis has taken lessons from Chase for over 2 years. From the first lesson, his patient demeanor put her completely at ease. During that time we have seen her understanding of music and her love for guitar continue to grow.

Chase has a unique way of challenging his students to stretch in their ability while simultaneously making it a great deal of fun. I would absolutely recommend him to both the new and seasoned student alike.

"When I first went to Randy, I wanted to learn how to sing better. Somehow, he saw that just learning how to sing wouldn't satisfy me, so he started teaching me music theory as well. As I, at the time, was in this bubble of singing and making music with my voice, I had had no interest in music theory and left his studio after two months. A few months later, I finally realized that I did, in fact, want to learn music theory, and so I went back to his studio. Learning about music with Randy has been one of the best experiences of my life- I'm now able to (slowly!) write songs of my own, distinguish different chord types, and I finally understand what the circle of fifths was that everybody talked about in my school choir. Without him, I never would have gotten to where I am now with music, and never developed a greater love and appreciation for it, and I thank him for that."

"Michael has been a great bagpipe teacher for our eight year old son. He is encouraging and patient in equal measure. His music choices have been well considered and appreciated. I was concerned about the efficacy of online lessons but it has all gone very smoothly and we haven't had any technical glitches. Despite the physical distance Michael has developed a personalized relationship with our son and it is clear that there is respect in both directions. Thank you very much!"

"I really liked Jennifer. I had a very specific reason why I wanted to take lessons. I wanted to sing a specific song at a memorial service for my mother. I have always been self conscious about my singing voice . After the very first lesson I started feeling better about being able to pull this off. She is very supportive and a really compassionate person. She actually agreed to go to the service to play the panino so I could more comfortably sing this song....need I say more about Jennifer?"

I spoke with him on the phone to get an idea of where I'm at and where I want to be, so immediately when I came to my first lesson we hit the ground running! I am very pleased with what I've learned so far and it's now up to me to practice and have my questions ready to make the most out of the time given (which is the fastest half hour you'll live ) I definitely recommend Sam to any level student who is serious about reaching the next level."

5 Maintenance Tips for Violin Bows

All musical instruments require attention and maintenance. When it comes to the violin, however, it is easy to forget that the bow needs as much care as the instrument itself. After all, the way you treat your violin bows will affect the way the violin sounds. If too much resin builds up on the hairs, for example, the sound will come out wrong. While it may not be as costly to repair or replace violin bows, why waste money when it’s easy to keep your violin bows in good working condition? …
