You've always wanted to learn to play? I'll teach you the basics.

Before you can play the songs you love to play, you must learn good technique. I will help blend the two.

The first half of each lesson will be dedicated to theory and technique exercises with the second half to songs I recommend or from your own repertoire. My recommendations may be from a different style of music than you are accustomed to, but I will be working towards helping you play the style you want to be able to play.

About Phyllis

I hold a Masters Degree in Music from George Mason University. A native of the Washington DC Metropolitan area, I have performed with the Washington Opera Company, at the Kennedy Center, and Historic Maryland's Adventure Theatre. New York City credits include performances off-Broadway for the

Great Teacher

Phyllis is the best singing teacher I have ever had. She is completely knowledgeable about technique and personalizes each class for her students. Phyllis is so sweet, and believes that there is a singing voice inside of all of us. Since I have started taking lessons with her, my range has expanded and not only that, I have gained new knowledge about sheet music that I had never heard before. I would highly recommend choosing her as your teacher.

Tyreese is super patient and thoughtful in his instruction and fine-tuning. Couldn’t have asked for a better instructor after a 30 year hiatus from an instrument that is fast becoming so dear to me once more!

The teacher was wonderful. But the platforms connection was poor. Really enjoyed the lesson.

When learning to play piano, FUN is most important! Whether you are interested in reading music or playing your favorite song, I can teach you to do just that. With over 15 years of playing piano, and over 1 year of teaching private lessons, my goal is to assure each lesson is packed full of fun, while teaching the fundamentals of music theory.

About Jake

I've been playing piano for over 15 years. I began playing in church, and have continued since. I've been teaching private lessons for about 1 year now. I thoroughly enjoy wiring music, specifically scoring music for skits and videos. Through my experience of playing, I've been able to use that ex

I love teaching and I have been doing it for about 6 years now. I love working with beginners, and I find myself especially good with children that are just getting to know music. Although I am open to work with any age-group.
As your teacher, we will work together to make you the most integral musician you can be. Every hand is different, so we will make sure we adjust to what works best for you and your skills.
I will share tips on how to practice and will follow up with your schedule and the amount of time you are putting towards your cello-life.
We will not only learn about cello in lessons, but also music theory (as I believe it is necessary for one to be able to not only make music, but also "talk" music.).
Since I am still a student, I am always looking for ways to make practicing more productive but also fulfilling so that is what we will do together as well.
I look forward to taking you from whatever level you may be at right now, to the most ideal performance/practice ...

About Adalus

I have loved teaching ever since I started doing so about 6 years ago. I have the most experience with children (begginners-intermediate), although I am comfortable with other age groups as well. My main goal as a cello teacher is not only for you to learn how to play the cello but to give you a b

I have been taking violin lessons with Alberto for about a year. I made a good progress on the goals set thanks to the efforts, dedication, patience, constance and passion he puts on his work. One can feel he enjoys teaching and encouraging the students to love their instrument and the music they can get from it. He is simply the best music teacher I have had and I would highly recommend him.

She was more excited than I was when I hit a note that I couldn't previously. I signed up for singing but she also helped with my writing struggles. She's REAL and she's HONEST. How to Read Sheet Music: Violin Notes for Beginners | TakeLessons

The most valuable skill you can develop as a musician is learning to read music. While it’s possible to learn to play “by ear,” reading music opens up the world to you as an artist! There are many different ways to write music. Guitarists often read off of charts outlining the chord progressions for the song. Drummers have a rhythm chart showing them what to play. As a violinist, however, you'll most likely be reading off of violin sheet music. Standard sheet music is filled with direc …
