I can help you to better understand music theory through explanations that make sense to you. Everything you want to know will be introduced to you at your own pace even if you don't have a clear idea of what theory concepts you'd like to know. I have taken quite a few theory classes including the more advanced subjects like form and analysis and counterpoint, even some composition and arrangement independent studies. Theory can seem esoteric to some and I myself even thought so at first, but through practice and experience I have learned to appreciate it. Let's learn in a way that works for you!

I love working with students who have interests in multiple genres of music! I myself like to do crossover work and I feel that having great training in multiple genres can prove to be beneficial. I have been in musicals and operas and both have helped each other at different times! I love being able to let my students have the space to explore and see what works for them. The whole point of being a teacher is to provide information and tools so that one day the student can go out into the world and do things with limited assistance. My time at Juilliard has provided me with tools I can use for the professional world, and to share that wih another person is really great!
I got started teaching at a pretty young age. When I was 13 I started with choral directing at a musical theater non profit and it all went up from there! I am about to graduate from The Juilliard School with a BM in Vocal Performance and I will be starting my Masters Degree at Rice University She
