I’m a bilingual professional drummer/musician with a Masters degree in music. I have also been teaching drums for more than 18 years with students of all ages, from beginners to advanced drummers. I have also toured worldwide with many top artists like Becky G., Thalia, Oscar Hernandez, Lauren Jauregui, etc. Part of the things I think are important to learn as a drummer are: How to develop independence, hand/foot technique and speed, rudiments, theory, how to play different genres among other things.

Groove is everything! Drumming is far more about feel than it's about flash. If you want to be the drummer who is in high demand you need to have both feel and flash, but feel is something that is not common. It's easier to learn flashy antics than a meat and potato drumming foundation. I've been a professional musician for over 30 years in the studio and touring all over the US, Mexico, and Central America. I can teach you how to play with seemingly effortless technique, how to bring your internal groove monster out, how to improvise solos, and bring thunderous energy into your playing venues! I have a 100% rate of getting my students into their school of choice as of yet. Although I don't guarantee it, I will work relentlessly to make sure you are well prepared though. I will also lend you PDFs of books to help you save a buck.

I first started playing drums on pots and pans when I was a wee lad. My parents thankfully fostered my musical inhibitions and purchased an electronic pad at the of 9. I have been playing ever since, mainly self-taught, with a variety of bands performing professionally across the Texas music scene. In addition to drum kit, I am a classically trained trombone player who studied under professor Charles Hurt at Texas State. I aim to bring my performance experience and classical music education to my students, in a way that’s easy to digest and most of all, fun!

I can teach a variety of styles including rock, pop, funk, jazz, blues and metal. The progression is focused on fundamentals, technique and theory to ensure that you can apply these concepts to whatever style of music you'd like to play throughout your music journey. I also do volunteer work teaching piano and drum kit lessons with Kids in a New Groove here in Austin.

I teach various styles of music including, jazz, fusion, funk, latin,and rock. I teach rudiments and classical drum technique utilizing various method books in order to facilitate proper technique, coordination,chart reading, and overall musicianship.

Drum set! Everyone wishes they can play the drums but do you have what it takes? I believe you do! In drum set lessons I will teach you the fundamentals and skills you need to play by yourself at home, make a drum cover video for YouTube, or play in a band.
