Garrett is a DJ, producer, drummer, educator, and business owner based in Los Angeles, and San Diego, CA. In addition to working with jazz ensembles and symphonies, he performs regularly with local pop/rock bands, and works as a freelance DJ under the moniker “Seth Vitál”. Garrett has a B.A. in Music from the University of California, San Diego, where he studied under two-time Grammy award-winning producer/arranger Kamau Kenyatta, and was awarded the university's 2017 Jazz Society Award. His performances have allowed him to open for acts such as Khalid, DJ Mustard, Schoolboy Q and Bad Suns.

In addition to performing, Garrett maintains private studios in North Hollywood and East San Diego County where he produces his own music/DJ mixes, composes for various high schools, and teaches DJing, drum set, and percussion to over 20 weekly private students. I am very versatile and can teach any style. I will personalize every lesson to your interests and goals. All you need is a practice pad and a pair of sticks to take a lesson.

The drum course is designed for entry-level students. The course covers the basics from holding sticks to playing a full kit. The theory, which is focused on, is rudiments. The 40 rudiments that are taught cover everything from a single stroke roll to a triple ratamaque.

Attacking the students aspirations and goals of their personal requests to the trainer, and getting to know the client and where they would like to see themselves in a limited time of training so the clients money and time isn't left in the mud! We will play and organize our curriculum through music and melody, with a counted rhythm to the beat we are attacking. Listening to our favorite songs is a good way to learn how to play an instrument, it gives a familiar count and sound that we can connect to! Music is simple but fun so our sessions will always revolve around repetitive lessons ,BPM , counting, rhythm, and listening to many many songs and playing them!
