I have been studying Broadway singers for years. I have been a Musical Theatre performer for years and I am still studying singing, acting and dancing. I am still young and know what it feels to want to better yourself everyday, so I can relate to most learning students. I put a lot of importance to vocal training, technique and warm-ups.

About Jennifer

Lehman College, Bachelors of Fine Arts, Graduate! I am a Musical Theatre Performer. I perform all the time and believe that warm-ups are a big importance when it comes to performing. Technique is something I have been studying for a while, and I am consistently learning what new techniques work for

Semi-retired now, I have over 50 years of training as a professional tenor soloist who's performed all over the world and vocal teacher.

I'd like to pass on my knowledge to all vocalists who are either new to singing or want to train their vocal chords for classical or operatic music.

Sadly, my Chinese (Mandarin) is much better than my English, so if you can put up with that, you get complimentary Chinese lessons as a result!

My parents forced me to start singing lessons. I thought I would thoroughly hate it, but it was very easy to learn from George. I could tell he has been teaching students for ages by the way he helped me fix my head voice singing. His English isn't the best, but most of the teaching was through sound and tone, so it didn't make an impact on the learning experience.
Bob
Very patient teacher who helped me expand my upper range from G to a Bb. He also helped me (with a non operatic voice) learn how to sing Italian classics with an operatic voice.

For the dedicated, adventurous, and creative student.

I create a space for the intelligent and inquisitive to explore what is possible through music, using the violin and other instruments or the process of music production as an opportunity to develop their personal voice.

You can learn and master an instrument, and I will help you do that, but there's more to it than that.

You can create music in a way that makes your life better. Through mastery of an instrument, or the skills of music production, you can see the world through a more colorful lens.

I teach violin, piano, voice, music production, composition, and songwriting.

About Josh

Short version: I grew up in Florida, where I spent my time water gardening, woodcarving, playing the violin, and slaying giant sea monsters in the Gulf of Mexico. I’ve composed film scores, arranged string quartets, and recorded/produced everything from rock bands to madrigalian choirs. I played

Josh is not your average music instructor! He has a way of using songs and methods that will reach each individual student to provide a great learning environment. My daughter has learned a lot!

I’ve had the privilege of taking some minor violin lessons as well as some piano lessons from Josh, and even had the pleasure of having him on my 3rd album as a collaborator. As an instructor, he was able to explain these new musical instrument endeavors for me, and remind me of the the thrill of overcoming a hurdle when it comes to composing and teaching yourself. I’ve been playing guitar for about 17 years now, so that hurdle was many years ago. I highly recommend Josh for instruction at all age and experience levels.

Josh is a talented musician, great communicator, and patient teacher. He has a unique was of combining movement and body control into his teaching of music to create a wholistic practice. I'd highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn music.

I am a professional violinist and violin instructor in the Washington, DC Metro Area. Currently teaching in Arlington, VA and Washington DC, I am now accepting new students to my home studio.
I have a great love for music and hope to be able to pass it on to anyone eager to learn. I teach beginner to advanced violin and viola students of any age, child to adult (adults, it’s never too late to learn if you have always wanted to!). Although there is no specified age limit, children younger than the age of 6 are admitted only at my discretion.
For beginners, I like using a combination of traditional and Suzuki methods. The materials used are Essential Elements and Suzuki Books. All my teaching is adapted to each student individually, catering to their specific level and interest.

Let's start playing together!

About Milena

Milena taught me everything with a firm but gentle hand, and really pushed me to be the best I could be. Her lessons were really personalized to what I was capable of, and although I hit some rough spots it was usually because of my own practice habits. All in all, I’m very glad I had her as my teacher.

Milena really knows her stuff. She’s very consistent and really focused on teaching. If you follow her instructions you will improve. Thank you for the lessons Milena! I promise I will get better at practicing!

My daughter has blossomed under Milena and has developed a real love for playing the violin. Milena has very high standards for her students and is supportive and encouraging. My daughter looks forward to her lessons each week.

"Excellent; exaclty what I needed! Thanks Rina

I am an older adult who had always wanted to play some of the popular and older songs for family and friends. I had tried to teach myself but had only limited success and very slow progress. As much as I tried to understand the theory behind playing piano I continued to get frustrated. I decided to look for someone who would understand my objectives and be patient enough to help me actually be able to play piano. Rina was perfect. She understood what I was looking for, was excellent in mixing piano theory with playing, and presented a very comfortable learning environment. She also was patient with my ability to learn and never made me feel uncomfortable in our practice sessions. What a difference having a great piano teacher makes in learning a skill like playing piano. Highly recommended and was exactly what I wanted in a music instructor. I plan to continue my piano lessons with Rina; she has made me realize I can do this!"

"Thank you, Nathan!
I decided to play cello when I was 64 yrs old. Nathan was my first teacher. He brought me through most all facets of playing and learning the music. Although children may be the mainstay of cello teachers, Nathan had many adult students as well--at a range of levels. He always was an encouraging, engaging, supportive teacher for me. He's also a supreme player! He waited for the time I could summon the courage to play in a string orchestra and chamber groups within my first year or so. Besides sorting out orchestra music, we worked on all the challenges of clefs, position work, and musicality. I took lessons from him every week for 5 years. A first, marvelous, teacher stays with you for a long time. I still play, have a new teacher recommended by Nathan, and I still think of Nathan's lessons often!
So get a cello and take some lessons from him!"

"Everything a music teacher should be

My worst nightmare was that taking guitar lessons as an adult would be similar to my forced and short-lived piano lessons as a youth. Mark quickly set my fears aside the first lesson by outlining what I would need to learn to reach my goals. He is very adaptive to the student based on music preferences and skill progression. Each week we focus on progressively harder songs.

Aside from guitar knowledge and teaching skills, Mark is also very flexible around your schedule. He really makes an effort to communicate and to reschedule when needed.

I'd recommend Mark to anyone looking for guitar lessons. I feel lucky to have found Mark as a teacher."

How to Be a Better Singer... With One Overlooked Secret

Wondering how to be a better singer? There's more to it than knowing how to use your voice. Read on as teacher Tony F. explains...   Do you love to sing? Is singing the first thing on your mind in the morning and the last thing at night? If you can answer yes to those questions, you might be what’s known as (cue the Star Wars theme music, maestro)… a singer. Symptoms may include: rocking your head to a favorite song as you sing along while driving down the road… an unbalanced …
