As a music instructor, I am eager to cater to the needs of each individual child and to provide them with engaging musical experiences in supportive environments. I have previously provided violin, viola, and piano lessons to students of all ages both through Thompson Tutoring in Portage, Michigan and Reverb Lessons in Chicago, Illinois. I have approximately six years of private teaching experience.

I recently graduated from Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts with a Master of Music Degree in Viola Performance. In 2016, I graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Viola Performance and Spanish. My performance experience includes both local and international venues. I have performed locally throughout the Southwest Michigan area, in orchestras such as the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Whiting Park Symphony Orchestra, Holland Symphony Orchestra, and Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree from the New England Conservatory and am currently a Master's student at Juilliard. I regularly play solo and chamber concerts internationally and can offer the highest level of instruction and artistry. I am also a passionate teacher- I am a Juilliard teaching artist at a local school in Harlem. I have over 10 years experience teaching young students, having worked with the New England Conservatory Preparatory School as an arts administrator, chamber coach, and orchestra sectional teacher.

Students can expect to build a solid foundation of technique, intonation, and other skills through my unique methods for learning efficiently which I have developed through the course of over 15 years of teaching violin. Whether they are in beginning, intermediate, or advanced levels, I provide a well-rounded teaching approach that would help them gain confidence in their musical and learning abilities as well as motivate them to practice and progress! ! Please NOTE: At this time, beginning students may only be accepted for online lessons with me if they had at least 1 solid month of weekly lessons.

I like to tailor my lessons to the needs of each student. I can teach all styles from, classical, to jazz to fiddle and contemporary or rock. Whatever the style, I strive to focus on good musicianship, theory and technique developing right hand dexterity and the bow arm along with the left hand and vibrato. I use several different methods depending on the age and ability of the student.

Teaching is one of my greatest joys! All ages are welcome to study with me. My calling is to work with all students' interests and goals, such as preparing for auditions or playing your favorite video game soundtrack. I'm happy to work on pieces or songs the student is passionate about! :)

Lessons will prioritize an understanding of the relationship between anatomy and sound. My students are taught how to hear an issue in their playing, diagnose the problem, and know exactly how to fix it physically. Creating a beautiful tone, a natural comfort with the instrument, eliminating pain or tension are all things we will work on.

“Talent” is a widely misunderstood concept. As a teacher, I don't believe talent is born. Talent is an artful skill. This skill is made through practice: concentrated sessions of mindful repetition, silent awareness, and craft. I believe anyone can learn an instrument with the right mindset and the right instruction.
