Ukulele Lessons in Livingston, LA

I have been playing the ukulele for approximately 8 years. Combined with my knowledge of music theory and guitar, I can teach whatever techniques one would be interested in learning on the ukulele. We can explore chord voicings and arrange songs for the ukulele or we can stick to the easier and more well known things such as Somewhere over the rainbow and Mele Kalikimaka :)

I've been playing ukulele for 15 years and teaching ukulele for 10 of those. I love this instrument, and I love teaching it to all ages. It's a simple but wonderful instrument and so fun to play. I'll focus on technique, chords, tab, finger picking, song studies, and theory.

Ukulele lessons are incorporated into my instruction practice as ukulele is traditionally easier than guitar for inexperienced players. It’s a smaller body, neck, and fretboard, and has nylon strings instead of steel strings. It will help the student develop confidence in their playing to songs that inspire them. Learning to play the Ukulele is so much fun! Young and old alike enjoy being able to play chords in just a few short lessons to favorite songs. This instrument is especially great for little ones- it's a great starter to string instruments of all types. You can find an inexpensive but good quality Ukulele at most music stores. I teach chords, rhythm and individual note reading so students enjoy themselves while learning to read music!
