The flute is an enchanting instrument, and it's so fun to learn! While it can be challenging, after just a few lessons with me, you can be playing some simple tunes. One of my dedicated students played a duet with me after just three lessons! I personally have been playing the flute for 17 years. I have performed in high school and college bands, and have been able to gain some teaching experience in the last few years. Our lessons will cover terminology, note reading, site reading, and technique, especially best embouchure practices.

About Rachel

Hello, my name is Rachel. I have been playing the flute for 17 years, ever since I was nine years old. I played in a small beginner band for about three years, during which I was also in school flute competitions. My flute teacher had a strong emphasis on rhythm and counting, for which I'm grateful

Rachel is an excellent flutist. She was very patient with me, an adult beginner student. She was very encouraging and strove to make lessons musically satisfying by providing songs that were easy for me to play.

Having 10 years of experienced cello teaching, I feel very comfortable helping my students understand the foundations of cello technique. I graduated with a Bachelors of Music from the music conservatory Cleveland Institute of Music, and got my Masters in Music from Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music.

In addition, I completed a 2 year rigorous Suzuki Technique Pedagogy Program where I am now certified to teach all 10 levels of the cello books. I am confident in explaining any questions a student may have. I love to make practicing a game, so that way we are developing the proper skills but also challenging ourselves while having fun! Even I can understand that practicing can get tiresome and dull at times!

As a traveling musician who has performed all over the world, I feel it is important for students to appreciate all types of music. While classical training and technique are absolutely crucial to the beginning stages of a student's development, I like to show ...

Tigran is a skillful, kind, patient and honest teacher. I’m a beginning adult learner and have been progressing very quickly with his help. Tigran’s teaching is structured and organized while keeping the lessons challenging and interesting enough to want to keep going. I value his time and knowledge. I also intend to continue learning the violin from Tigran for the long term. HIGHLY recommend!

I am a professional performing oboist and have been teaching private lessons for more than 10 years. I received a Bachelors, Masters, and Artist Diploma in Oboe, and have performed with orchestras around the world. I am passionate about teaching and love helping my students to grow. Beginning lessons focus on breathing, support, and embouchure so that we have a solid foundation on which to build. I like to combine work on fundamentals with learning music specific to the student's preferences. I am flexible and tailor each lesson to the student. Looking forward to working with you!

Justine has really helped me throughout this year, especially since it’s my first year and I had a hard time getting used to the instrument. Shes really good with teaching and has continuously helped me to learn new things.
Jason Locher - Medina Bands
I am the Director of Bands for the Medina City School System and I serve over 800+ band students from 6th grade through 12th grade. Justine has been teaching oboe lessons for the oboe students in our band program for a number of years now.

She is an extremely pleasant and polite individual to work with professionally. All of the students I have spoken with regarding their lessons with Justine cannot sing her praises enough!! In their lessons Justine is kind and abundantly knowledgeable. Justine provides sound pedagogical advice rooted in her deep understanding of music and her own outstanding musicianship!!!

Oboe students are very fortunate to study with someone like Justine. I know as a band director, I am very fortunate to have such a person supplementing our student's music learning.

"After our son's first lesson with Dr. Walker two years ago, he was excited to play the piano again. Dr. Walker brought the 'spark' back to a teenager who was beginning to lose interest in playing. Dr. Walker provides incredible background knowledge into various piano pieces, has great patience, and encourages his students. He shares a love of music that is interesting, which is so important for teenagers. He is described by our son as someone who is upbeat and always in a good mood. We are very fortunate to have him as our son's teacher."
