I teach all areas of Guitar. I teach you how to read the music, understand the theory, and to play many different styles as well as genres of music. I also work on playing by ear and transposition as well as how to follow a lead sheet or chord sheet.

Hi, I’m Norman, and I teach guitar and all other fretted instruments. I have maintained a weekly schedule of about 40 studio and online students since 2010. Lessons with me are fun, streamlined, and filled with music.

My students can play their instruments well, and they know their chords, scales, arpeggios, songs, and other compositions. Using the state-of-the art music learning theory I studied at Eastman School of Music, performers gain the confidence to play in solo recitals, or with a group, or even to teach others to play, too.

I studied hazz and classical guitar at Shenandoah Conservatory receiving my degree as what amounts to a double major double minor in Jazz piano/Recording engineering and jazz and classical guitar. I teach reading, writing, theory, improv, etc

I have been teaching for over fifteen years. We will learn some standards as well as your favorites.You can choose to learn by ear, notation, tab, or some combination of these. Whether strumming, string bending, double stops, etc we will learn it all.

Lessons offered for beginner to intermediate players. I have a guitar I can provide, but definitely recommend they have one to practice on.

I have a very practical approach to teaching guitar! I was taught how to play by ear first, at 2 years old and later studied music theory to connect the dots. I love to find patterns and predictability in music to make it easy to navigate through.
