Piano Lessons in Independence. Amazing Teachers.

You will learn how to play and identify notes on the keyboard, read sheet music, learn rhythmic values, play chords, and so much more. The piano is a very diverse instrument. It is a great tool to teach a student about music in general. In addition to learning how to play the piano, you will lean many basic music theory concepts.

Piano Lessons with me will cover the core and fundamentals of playing but I allow my students the authority to learn music and songs that they enjoy to ensure the lessons remain fun and entertaining. I want people to always learn the basics to lay the foundation but what propelled me to a higher level was always making sure to have fun as I progressed in my playing.

With over 20 years of piano playing experience, Liz loves sharing the knowledge she's gathered over the years from the beginning of her music career. As the very first instrument Liz began to study, she's gathered immense detailed knowledge of piano music ranging from classical to contemporary to jazz to pop and even show-style.

I've taught many Piano students at a private music academy, ranging from small children to adults. For a beginner, we will focus on fundamentals, as good technique is an investment in future success. I use a well-respected Piano method book for all my students, and many of them have had great success under my instruction.

Expect to learn how to read and play music as well as learn the inner workings of basic theory.

I focus heavily on technique at first, usually for the first 2-4 months. At that point, depending on the student we work on either sight reading or improvisation.
