As a frontwoman and background vocalist to numerous rock/soul/indie bands, I've got some performance chops under my belt! I'm a standing testament to the fact that performance anxiety *can* be overcome- and with a vengeance! Performance techniques we'll go over include everything from microphone technique, to simple PA/monitor setup, live performance tips and tricks I've picked up over the years, and developing your own persona that feels natural, comfortable, and fun. I studied Dance for the first 18 years of my life, too, so we can throw some of that in there too. I draw from it frequently as a performer, actually. I've played big shows to small ones and run into a lot of things over the years. We can talk about it all. get ready for story time!

Ray has already helped this 47 Year old kid to make large leaps in my understanding of music theory and my instrument. I really appreciate Rays knowledge of music and his ability to break it down so that anyone can understand and put into practice the knowledge gained very quickly. My hour lessons go so fast that I wonder where the time went.
Ray has been very flexible to this student and has been very accommodating to all the questions I have. He is patient and will go over anything again until you understand the lesson.
I Highly recommend Ray to any level of student all ages just starting out or someone who wants to gain more knowledge with the instrument you have.
I appreciate what he has taught me so far and am very excited to see where this journey takes me."
Thank you Richard for a first day's great experience. Hope it will continue with your new Banjo"

Is that a fiddle... or a violin? It's a common question, and one that baffles many beginner musicians. So what's the answer? When it comes to the actual instrument, there actually aren't any differences. What distinguishes a violin from a fiddle is what kind of music you're playing with it. A musician playing folk, bluegrass or country, for example, would most likely refer to their instrument as a fiddle; those who play other genres (jazz, classical, etc.) typically call theirs a violin. …
