I have been teaching beginning cello for over twenty years. I teach both traditional western methods and Suzuki style. I have a Doctorate in Music. I am very experienced teaching all ages. I teach out of my home studio in Scottsdale. If you have ever dreamed of learning to play music, I can help you make that dream come true.

My style of teaching is to teach each child one step at a time, through method training. Each child/Adult has their own learning curve and I adjust accordingly. Each lesson is fun and yet a learning time. I love teaching and it feeds every day. I always can see more students.

A fully trained and registered Suzuki cello teacher. Teaching cello to students at any age and any level. 8 years of teaching experience.
Teaching mainly according to the Suzuki Method. Beginners will be starting from basics to build a solid foundation to become a complete cellist and a knowledgable musician. More importantly, to enjoy the fun of cello playing and beauty of music making along the way!

I love sharing my passion for music with all of my students - ages 5 through 72.

You can always recognize a skilled cellist. The music sounds smooth and graceful, the tone quality is lovely. Unskilled cellists just don’t sound the same. What’s the difference? Skill of course. The skill to play a very large instrument with relaxed hands and arms by using your core muscles to transfer your body weight through your arms and hands into the cello. Not every cello teacher knows how to teach that.

I believe that my unique combined musical and medical background makes me a better cello teacher. In addition to my graduate and undergraduate musical training and extensive musical experience, My knowledge of human anatomy and mechanics of how the body works can help you develop habits that will lead to the beautiful singing tone that’s makes the cello a favorite.

We will then build on those habits to develop good intonation, a lovely vibrato and a variety of bowing techniques ...

Hello! My name is Rochelle L. and I am a Boston University graduate with a degree in Cello Performance. I have been teaching cello for almost 9 years and it is something I truly enjoy doing!

I strive to give my students a solid foundation that they can rely on, regardless of whether or not they wish to pursue a career in music or not. I am fortunate enough to have studied with incredible cellists and musicians and I am eager to share what they have taught me.

I was an Orchestra Teacher for over 10 years and taught many children how to play the cello from beginners to advanced players. I know how to make corrections verbally because these were instructions I had to make orally in class. I will help you develop your technique and improve your facility on the instrument.
