I have been playing the acoustic guitar for 13 years. As a recent graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University, I have been teaching guitar and ukulele lessons as well as classes since the spring of 2017. I hold a bachelor's degree in music performance with my primary instrument being the guitar.
I can also help you to acquire a solid foundation of music theory knowledge. You can better understand music theory concepts if they are paired with guitar techniques to supplement them.
If you are a complete beginner, do not be afraid! I will help you to learn at a pace which is comfortable but still effective for you. These lessons will be focused and designed to fit YOUR needs. Let's learn together :)

Josh has been playing and performing music for over 13 years. He has achieved a bachelor's degree in instrumental music education and has experience as an instructor teaching private students and group classes for over 8 years. He has studied instrumental music education including areas of classical music, jazz, theory, history, and improvisation.

I've been teaching guitar for 14 years. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play many basic songs and as time goes on you'll be able to play your favorite ones and have learned many chords, strum patterns and techniques on your instrument. I specialize in getting you quick results so you are enjoying playing the songs you love while you progress with technique. I typically start beginners in open G tuning with familiar songs that I provide and openly take your suggestions of songs you want to learn. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

The guitar is an incredibly flexible and diverse instrument. I have played in a variety of styles and genres (though I certainly have my favorites!), and I want to help you unlock the tools you already have so that you can play your favorites as well, regardless of what they may be. They key is understanding not only how the guitar works, but how you work when you're playing the guitar. I always strive to help my students understand the music they're playing, the instrument they're playing on, and themselves. With a good understanding of those things, there's no limit to what you can accomplish in music!

Acoustic guitar with its range of sound allows for various genres and style to be produced. My history with this instrument allows me to the be the perfect teacher by knowing the instrument front and back and understanding how to get the most brilliant sound from each style and genre.
