Great Teacher

Phyllis is the best singing teacher I have ever had. She is completely knowledgeable about technique and personalizes each class for her students. Phyllis is so sweet, and believes that there is a singing voice inside of all of us. Since I have started taking lessons with her, my range has expanded and not only that, I have gained new knowledge about sheet music that I had never heard before. I would highly recommend choosing her as your teacher.

Students will learn how to read as well as play: notes, chords, scales, songs, common chord progressions, guitar tab, chord charts and a whole bunch more! Ear training, chord theory and improvisation will also be incorporated into the lessons.

I generally walk students through a guitar method book.
( a few examples listed below)

Hal Leonard Guitar Method by Will Schmid Level 1

The Christopher Parkening Guitar Method - Volume 1: Guitar Technique

Mel Bay's Modern Guitar Method Grade 1

Some primary goals I have for students are to keep them motivated, interested, inspired and challenged.
I love music, and it should be fun, exciting, and entertaining!

You will learn a lot with me and we'll have a good time doing it!

James is an amazing teacher! My son has taken piano lessons from him for several years. James not only taught lessons and theory, he helped my son prepare “Prelude in C Major” by Bach for a school talent show. They also worked on Erik Satie’s “Gymnopedie”. One year, James helped him prepare a song to sing at a talent show and even came to the show and accompanied him on piano. My son has written songs that James has helped him refine. When my son showed up with a ukulele, James was able to teach him how to play it as well. We love James!

Hey drummers!

Learn to groove to the music you love!

My name is Dani Danor. I am a professional drummer and teacher. Drums and music have always been my biggest passion.

My number one goal in teaching is to get my students as excited as I am about this incredible instrument. And why shouldn't they? This is one of the few (if not the only) instruments that use all four limbs simultaneously. How crazy is that? Imagine how many rhythms, sounds and melodies can be created? Endless!

Drums are the heart of the music all around the world! Whether it's rock 'n roll, funk, jazz, hip-hop, salsa, samba, or electronic music, the drums are what make everything feel so good!

If you too would like to begin (or continue) exploring this amazing world of rhythm and sound, you are welcome to contact me to schedule a lesson. I teach at my studio in Crown Heights as well as at the students' homes.

All ages and levels are welcome! Feel free to contact me for more information.

All the best,

Dani

My son does not always give his best focus / concentration when it comes to learning. DD is able to provide new and interesting materials to keep him interested and inspired every week. In addition, DD is super punctual and easy to work with when it comes to scheduling. I'm so glad that I found your profile online! Thank you, Dani!

Dani is truly an amazing teacher and I'm so fortunate to have found him. He is a highly skilled musician and phenomenal drummer who knows how to explain and teach at my level. I've improved so much in a short amount of time by practicing what Dani gives me to work on and I've been having a blast, too. Not only is Dani a great teacher and drummer but he's also kind, patient and fun to learn from. Best drum teacher I could have wished for!!!

I've been taking drum lessons with Dani since January (6 months) and have been really enjoying our lessons. Dani's a great teacher with a positive attitude and that made all the difference. I'd leave the lessons feeling excited and inspired to practice the new beats he taught me. Super glad we're able to continue our lessons online during this period. I can't recommend him enough!

If you are looking for a very skilled and knowledgeable vocal instructor, Moriah is exactly that and then some.

I started lessons with her right about the time COVID had started and our sessions have been done online. Over the course of a few months, I have felt and heard the improvement in my singing abilities through her guidance. So if you have any doubts about taking lessons online (ignoring the current situation), rest assured that you'll be in good hands with her. She will make sure you understand and fully grasp the concepts and techniques that she teaches you and how to apply them. Even if it takes hearing the most ridiculous analogy for you to comprehend it. Every lesson caters to what you're working on or need more assistance with. So every warm up or exercise has purpose. You also have the freedom of selecting the song you'd like to work on which makes the experience all the better and more personal.

I had developed bad singing habits after attempting to teach myself several times in the past. Like many others, I also hate the sound of my own voice. Moriah though has been patient as well as supportive and helped me undo those bad habits. She's also taught me to have better control, have stronger breath support, how to analyze the phrasing and pronunciation of a lyric, know proper resonance placement, and be more confident about my voice.

A big part of picking a coach or instructor is being able to connect with them and building a good rapport. Moriah has a welcoming and supportive personality, but knows the meaning of hard work and persistence and she will expect that in order for you to progress.

I have a ways to go until I reach where I would like to be in my journey of singing, but I chose Moriah and there have been no regrets.
Chris
Moriah is a great Singing teacher. I couldn't hold a tune. Moriah helped me overcome a fear of singing in front of people after I had bad experiences with other music teachers. She had faith in me. After several lessons I now can sing in tune!! Thanks Moriah for helping me do what I love to do-Sing!
Jennifer
When I first met Moriah, I was a little hesitant to continue lessons with her because she was in her 20s like myself. I wanted someone, I guess, older to be my instructor. The older they are, the more they know, the more they can teach right? ...........Well, Moriah is one heck of a smart woman when it comes to music theory, and ear/vocaltraining! She knows what she is talking about and even more so, knows how to explain it in a way YOU will understand. She will work with you until you are able to grasp what she is trying to teach, even if you have to try a million different methods before the right one is found. She would rather spend time with you in fully understanding something then just pushing you along. She is open to questions, comments and concerns you have. Moriah is very aware of the concept of “one size does NOT fit all”, and she will customize your session to your needs, and skill level.

Her lessons usually start of with a couple of stretches (usually just upper body). This is to help relax your body, jaw, mouth, etc before singing. Then she will do some vocal warms that at first seem pretty basic, and not intense, but they will help you in the long run! Trust me. Then she will practice with you a song you want to try to sing or need help with. As you progress, she will have you work on reading music and other skills. (Course, she is open to working on anything more or less as you need). Once again, your lesson is customized on what YOU need.

I’ve been working with her since July 2018. I know that I have improved on ear training immensely! I am able to pick up melodies much faster than before. I am able to sing more powerful than before which is something I struggle with consistently. She will push you! She will take you out of your comfort and push you to have confidence in yourself. She has a great personality. Kind. Fun. Energetic. Intelligent beyond her years. I’m continuing to take lessons with her until she makes me the next Beyoncé or something.

So I highly recommend her. Book a few lessons with her, attend them, don’t forget to take your water, and a recoding device, be responsible and take it serious because she is taking you serious. After all you’re paying for the lessons. You want to improve. And you will.

I’m looking forward to continue working with her and be stretched more.

He made the top 3 of each chair placement audition at school placing him in the top ensembles . He's constantly learning and sharing his practice tips that have helped him get to his high level of performance. He knows how to help other students, explains concepts in simple ways to understand, and knows which books to use. He puts attention to detail and focuses on technique. 5 Reasons Learning Barre Chords Is Easier Than You Think

Learning guitar barre chords, or chords created while clamping down all six strings with your index finger, intimidates many guitar students. However, these new chords don't need to be so scary! Austin guitar teacher Samuel B. breaks down five reasons why learning barre chords is not so bad... I maintain little to no doubt that learning guitar barre chords is the most challenging advance for a student.
