German Lessons in Frierson. Amazing Teachers.

Hallo liebe Studenten! Wilkommen ins Deutch Klasse! Welcome students! My name is Alex Boyt and I am a theatre artist so in addition to teaching acting classes, I teach german as well! I studied german for 3 years in high school, and another 3 years in between and at my undergrad. A good friend of mine in high school moved to my school from Germany and some of his family members only spoke german so I learned a lot more just through being around native speakers. I am conversationally fluent and have a strong foundation when it comes to grammar, sentence structure, and verb conjugation. I first started learning German due to a serendipitous move to Oklahoma following my junior year of high school. I have since really grown to love the German language and ended up getting a BA in German Studies (jointly with a BA in Spanish). I really love German literature, whether it's Goethe or Michael Ende, and I really enjoy Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Händel, and also Lieder (Shubert's "Erlkönig" being my favorite). I am also a huge fan of Die Prinzen. I consider myself an expert in grammar-related topics (including verb conjugation, cases, Konjunktiv I and II, etc.) but am also willing to teach vocabulary, pronunciation, and other topics.

I have been teaching German and Art professionally for15 years .

I can assist in beginning German or intermediate level of German. I am not completely fluent, but I studied it for many years throughout high school and college.

What is my approach? First of all, I listen carefully, very carefully. I believe it is important for an excellent job to know precisely what my client wants to accomplish. Understanding this is the prerequisite to give good advice, guidance and then, of course, a plan, a kind of strategy to follow in order to reach these goals. There will be a permanent interaction between my client and myself to monitor the progress, eventually speed up the tempo or, if necessary, to slow down.
There is no dogma; there is only one main criterion: success.

I am native German and teach happy and successful students for a long time.

I can't really talk too much about how other teachers work, and also don't want to. But I know I have and always had many happy and successful students. From kids, adults, professionals, hobbyists to people who retired and finally have time to fulfill a life goal.

I have quite a few students who have German in school and it is a pleasure to see how they improve since there is mostly not really the time at all to go over details in school and my experience is that most students who don't have native parents, need simply help in order to succeed and get good grades.
