I have been playing the guitar for 15 years. As a graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University, I have been teaching guitar and ukulele lessons as well as classes since the spring of 2017. I hold a bachelor's degree in music performance with my primary instrument being the guitar.
I can help you to acquire a solid foundation of music theory knowledge. You can help to better understand music theory concepts if they are paired with guitar techniques to supplement them.
If you are a complete beginner, do not be afraid! I will help you to learn at a pace which is comfortable but still effective for you. These lessons will be focused and designed to fit YOUR needs. Let's learn together :)

Beginner Guitar lessons include: Chord and Chord Shapes (Open and Barred), Scales, Rhythm, Blues Licks, and Song Form.

I”m patient, engaging, and have a deep love of learning and communicating my passion for music. Even though I’ve performed professionally as a soloist with orchestras, I know what it’s like to be a beginner- I was there just ten years ago!

If you take lessons with me, prepare to see your progress skyrocket. I work together with my students to create objectives that will enthuse them and make them want to practice, and then break those down into micro-goals, so that they are going to see tangible progress every day that they pick up the guitar.

Through the foundation I've gained by the influences of Mel Bay, Hal Leonard, and Suzuki musical instruction methods, I compile my own teaching materials. Using personally constructed guitar lessons, I demonstrate, instruct, and guide the student based on my assessment of their individual needs, skill level, and progress. Lessons are formulated in Modules, and advancement through them is based on the student's personal aptitude, skill level, and practice commitment. Learning is accomplished by ear as well as through essential methods of musical notation (tablature, 5-line staff, rhythmic comprehension). Students are trained to perform written music as well as to write and express the music within themselves.
I'm an encouraging and motivating guitar teacher with a casual relaxed approach. Teaching new guitarists is very rewarding to me. To see the light come on and watch a student perform a song, express themselves musically, and create their own composition is an awesome experience.
