Students will learn how to read as well as play: notes, chords, scales, songs, common chord progressions, guitar tab, chord charts and a whole bunch more! Ear training, chord theory and improvisation will also be incorporated into the lessons.

I have been playing the acoustic guitar for 13 years. As a recent graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University, I have been teaching guitar and ukulele lessons as well as classes since the spring of 2017. I hold a bachelor's degree in music performance with my primary instrument being the guitar.
I can also help you to acquire a solid foundation of music theory knowledge. You can better understand music theory concepts if they are paired with guitar techniques to supplement them.
If you are a complete beginner, do not be afraid! I will help you to learn at a pace which is comfortable but still effective for you. These lessons will be focused and designed to fit YOUR needs. Let's learn together :)

Our first lesson will consist of what styles you prefer, what you like to listen to, etc. After that I will be able to figure out a lesson plan individualized specifically for the student!

My process is to analyze each student's unique abilities and to create a personalized learning experience for everyone. I have taught people from 5 to 83. I believe it is important to be empathetic to each person's needs, for example, I have experience teaching left-handed people, kids with Cerebral Palsy, Asperger's syndrome, people with missing fingers and other difficulties. Parents always ask me how I can be so patient with their kids, (the real secret is that I don't have to take them home ;) but on a serious note, I always remember the extreme amount of frustrating hours I put in before I got any real results. I began learning the language of music since the 3rd grade. I have used that knowledge and consistent practice to excel at 3 different instruments saxophone , piano and guitar . I love to sing , play old and current songs as well as write my own music on the guitar. I want to teach you all of the skills needed to play guitar effectively. I will teach you timing , how to form chord shapes , strum patterns , reading tab or notes on the staff , rhythm as well as solo guitar.
