About Denise
I hold a Master's in Voice Performance degree from University of New Orleans and Bachelor of Science degree in Voice Performance from State Music Academy, Sofia, Bulgaria.
In 2001, I toured with International European Opera Company which performed numerous times in Denmark, France, Italy and USA.
I currently perform and teach in the New Orleans area and love to share my knowledge and experience with my students. There is so much more to performance then just beautiful vocalizing.....

*** Lesson Details ***
My teaching is based on my own personal, classical training from Europe and North America. Whether it's opera, oratorio, musical theater or pop-style singing that is desired, I believe that classical technique is an essential source of proper singing that can be used to train singers of all genres.
Just like a piano, flute or vi
olin, your voice is an instrument.
The purpose of voice lessons is to help you develop a beautiful and dynamic singing voice and also to teach you to use your voice in a healthy age-appropriate way that will keep you singing for many years to come!
As your teacher, I want your lesson to be more than just singing through a few songs.
While what specifically happens during a voice lesson can vary greatly from student to student and from week to week, the overall structure of the lessons remains similar.
We will always start with some combination of warm-ups for your breath, body, and voice. Just as you wouldn't go running without first stretching and warming up your muscles, you don't want to start singing full songs without first getting your body and voice warmed up.
Warm-ups will also introduce you to new techniques for properly using your voice in a healthy and beautiful way.
After warm-ups, we will work on songs. Typically, you will sing through the song once, and then we will go through it in small, manageable chunks, applying the techniques from the warm-ups to the songs.
During the lesson we will also work on expression and acting. A song isn't just pretty notes—it tells a story. If it's a song from a musical, there's a specific character that sings it. It's your job as a singer to tell the story and to make it fun and exciting for the audience.
While there's a lot of hard work that goes on during a lesson, voice lessons are lots of fun! As your teacher, I am here to encourage you, support you, and guide you in your vocal studies. I look forward to working with you soon!

*** Studio Equipment ***

I currently teach music theory courses at Tulane University and work with complete beginners to graduate students. I am happy to help with coursework and we can work through textbooks or I can provide materials.

About Phillip

I currently perform professionally, including with the Louisiana Philharmonic, Jefferson Performing Arts Society, and Rapides, Acadiana, and Lake Charles Symphonies. There are many ways to cultivate your musical skill whether it's visual, kinesthetic, or auditory. Let's find out which way works best for you!

Most schools do not offer the flexibility in learning styles necessary for you to find your ideal way of processing new information, whether it be visual, auditorial, kinesthetic, memetic, right brain/left brain, etc.

That's why I'm here! I pride myself on working with each individual student on the subtle ways that they learn and form healthy habits. If you have any questions about my teaching styles or methods please ask!

A little more about me:

I have over 10 years of guitar experience, studying under Jazz heavyweights Corey Christiansen, Oteil Burbridge, and Dan Miller. I pride myself in putting my students needs and wants above all else. I wish to impart a love for music onto my students that can only be cultivated by the bond a teacher and their student share, let us learn and grow together!

About Grant
Hello!

My name is Grant and I’ve been helping students grow for over 11 years now! How time flies! I started playing music at the age of 9 and have been in love with it ever since, staying active in my local music scene as an instructor, performer, manager, and booking agent.

I pride myself in taking a students learning needs and using that as my basis for their specific lesson plan, always on a case-by-case basis, tailored to each individual student. Everyone is at a different waypoint on their path so why would I use a predetermined formula to try and help them, am I right?

This can mean using a specific song as a goal and learning the specific techniques that we need in order to learn it as our curriculum. This could also mean finding out if a visual approach to teaching is better than an auditory one. I like to think of thes
e things for my students to make their learning as easy and effective as possible.

In addition to freelance work, (weddings, jazz brunch gigs, etc.) I am the lead guitarist for the Funk/R&B band Water Seed and the soul project RetroFit. I attended Indiana University for jazz guitar and have studied under jazz greats Dan Miller, Corey Christiansen, and Oteil Burbridge.

I teach all kinds of stringed instruments from guitar and bass to mandolin and banjo! If you have any questions about my teaching methods, skill level in a certain discipline, or anything you can think of I would be more than happy to answer you!

Musically yours,
Grant

I teach music theory with the goal of improving my students' functional abilities as performers and composers. Whether I'm teaching basic note, key, and scale lessons or advanced jazz and classical theory lessons, I aim to keep theoretical ideas firmly connected to my students' experiences as performers and listeners. My time studying at the Berklee College of music has provided me with extensive knowledge of the theory and structure of jazz, pop, and classical music, and with proven methods of passing this knowledge on to others.

About Timothy
I'm a Berklee College of Music-trained multi-instrumentalist with years of teaching experience. I have experience performing, composing, and/or recording on the genres of classical, jazz, Latin, rock and pop music, and I have extensive knowledge of jazz and classical music theory. Music Theory is all about how music actually works, and giving each function a recognizable name. It's intimidating, no doubt, but one only needs to scratch the surface to start being able to use it with creativity. My students will work with harmonic and rhythmic analysis, scales, chords, and practical usage.

About Kenny
I am a professional working musician and a licensed K-12 instructor in the State of Louisiana, having graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelors of Music Education, with a Minor in Jazz Studies in the spring of 2016. I play the guitar (electric, steel/ nylon string acoustic), the trombone (tenor/ bass), and the drums (kit).
Guitar students can and should expect to improve in some facet every week after every lesson. Every person approaches music differently, and thereby, approaches the guitar differently. Different bodies mean different physical methods for successful playing. Different brains mean different musical realities- and whatever the state of yours is, I want to help you make it better.
There are so many different ways to be musical, and as your teacher I want to make you aware of them, and help you use every
tool in your toolbox, as well as give you some new ones. Music is not too vast to understand, and all it takes is one little push to be off on your way, making your own musical adventures.
As someone who has thrived in most ensemble scenarios from Concert Bands, Orchestras, Big Bands, to Rock Bands and Jazz Combos, I can help prepare you for any musical undertaking. I love students who love music and want to get better at it, regardless of what style it might be in.
So whoever you are, whatever you like, and wherever your skills are at, I want to help- to impart you with skills and knowledge you might need to play at the level you want. I look forward to meeting you and helping you be even more awesome!

As a current faculty member of the New York Jazz Workshop, Andrea Veneziani is a dedicated educator. He has taught master classes at the National Institute of Music and the National University of Costa Rica, at the Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey and at the Olav Duun Videregående Skole in Namsos, Norway. Students can learn how to recognize notes, their names, their values, rhythms, various clefs, cadences, chord progressions and their use in intros, outros, turnarounds, etc. And so much more!!

Most work would be on piano but would include rhythm instruments to convey ideas.

About Granville
I operate in the music arena as a touring musician; a Music Director for musicals, jazz ensembles and choirs; a composer & songwriter; a band teacher at my local elementary school, a private instructor and a producer with a degree in Jazz Composition and Professional Music from Berklee College of Music. I am currently performing and writing with Divinity Roxx (Beyonce, Victor Wooten, etc.), Elle Winston, Kate Vargas and others. Most of my writing and creating is done here in my private studio. I am proud to have produced tracks featured by the likes of Elton John on his Beats 1 Radio (Apple Music) station. That is to say, I'm really proud of the artists and having such an inspired space.

I have, and continue to be honored to perform all over the world with some of the most prolific players this planet has seen and those it will experi
ence in the coming years. I find playing music can be a great source of inspiration and release. But most importantly, everyone has a voice to be heard through music.

I have taught privately since I was in high school on my own. Over the years, I have also been affiliated with some amazing entities. Additionally, my work in arts administrative (Brooklyn Academy of Music -BAM, UVA Music) translates into my ability to show you skills that will garnish success when you aren't playing music.

My students can expect growth in knowledge of rhythm, understanding of music and song forms. Your timing will improve! Your feel for styles (blues, rock, jazz, hip hop, EDM, etc.) will improve! Your technique will be through the roof!! I empower my students to do whatever they can dream to do with music, whether it is for personal enrichment or personal ambition.

I will demystify anything you feel is outside of your reach and grow you into the musician you want to be. My private studio is a fully equipped playground for the musically-minded with all the tools and materials you need to grow as a musician, so all you need to bring is your imagination. I look forward to the journey.
