Breaking down the language of the movement so you know what you are doing when and how to carefully develop the parts that are weakest by separating them from the mix of all the movement and then studying them minutely until the physical process makes sense to your mind and body. Musicality from the moment you stand in first position. Relationship to music in the form itself and toward the music you are hearing. Turns, jumps, adagio, petite allegro, alignment, balance. Barre. Center. Feet. Head.....

Virtually we will do a complete barre. More advanced students will move to center work.

American Ballet Theatre Certified Teacher Beginning - Level 3. Teaching students the foundational skills necessary for a life filled with dance is my passion. Assisting students to grow by building their skills, developing their artistry, and finding their voice through movement is my goal. I expect each student to have a goal in mind when we begin. It can be as big as striving to be a professional, as wonderful as keeping in good health, and as simple as learning new steps.

I begin training in ballet at age 2. It was what I aspire to do! If you have any interest in ballet then this class is the class for you! This class will go over the basic ballet positions, movies, alignment, and various combinations as well as terminology.

I've studied ballet (eventually getting to pointe) on and off for seven years with a number of teachers using different technique standards. If ballet is something you'd like to try, or perhaps you're an actor looking for more movement training, I'd love to teach you! While I could teach up to an intermediate level, I prefer working with beginners one-on-one. Private lessons allows me to take the time to show you the ropes and proper technique without the pressure of a fast-paced classroom environment. This can be especially helpful for those who may be unsure about dancing in front of others or are coming at it past the "typical" ballet age and are yet to find a class that makes them feel at home! I have this problem myself and I am only in my 20's (a lot of ballet classes near me have mainly young teens as students)! Hi students! I am a professional ballet/Broadway dancer with 25+ years of training and experience. I have taught at Ballet Academy East (nationally recognized for its well crafted syllabus and meticulous technique) in both the young children's pre-ballet program and the Pre-Professional Graded Level. As a student, I have attended San Francisco Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, American Ballet Theater in NYC, and Central PA Youth Ballet before working on Broadway in Phantom of the Opera and with The Metropolitan Opera in Lincoln Center.

With my lessons we can work on improving strength/technique, preparing for an audition, or coaching through a variation. Not only will you gain strength and technique, but also insight into the industry from a seasoned professional. You will also leave with exercises you can practice at home for rapid improvement.
