I have been playing the guitar for 13 years. As a recent graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University, I have been teaching guitar and ukulele lessons as well as classes since the spring of this year (2017). I hold a bachelor's degree in music performance with my primary instrument being the guitar.
I can help you to acquire a solid foundation of music theory knowledge. You can help to better understand music theory concepts if they are paired with guitar techniques to supplement them.
If you are a complete beginner, do not be afraid! I will help you to learn at a pace which is comfortable but still effective for you. These lessons will be focused and designed to fit YOUR needs. Let's learn together :)

I am genuinely passionate about your success in becoming the best player you choose to be! I like to teach with repetition (wax on wax off) and prefer to present the big picture first so that every obstacle may potentially never be an obstacle for you. I take years of teaching experience and what have been topics of frustration brought to me from students in the past. I try to smooth the road and teach you, so you get the highest yield of success for your money with as little headaches as possible :) I would LOVE to have the opportunity to show you how great you can be in WAY less time than a traditionalist private teacher would get you...

Barbara has taught me to further my guitar skills and given me confidence to play in a group. Not only is she a great teacher but she is a great and warm person. Thanks for everything!!"

Edward is everything I could want in a music teacher for my 7 year old. He is PATIENT (thats a biggy), easy-going, he worked at my son's pace, created goals, he is knowledgeable/experienced, flexible, prepared for lessons so time is used wisely, he explored different modes of teaching/learning (reading music, playing music, watching music being played, listening to music be played), he asked for feedback from my son to gauge how he felt about doing certain things or how he would like to move forward, he is professional, invites communication, and makes learning fun. I am sure I am forgetting to mention things. I have no doubt whatsoever that if Edward can teach my young son to play the guitar, he is capable of teaching people at any age to play as well. Nothing but a great experience over all and highly recommended!"

Edwin was a great teacher. He was very patient and knew the guitar well enough to teach an adult who knew nothing. I have recommended my friends and their kids."
