About Jason
TakeLessons.com Instructor since 2005, Jason M. is now available for online lessons worldwide featuring multiple-camera angles and a share screen experience leaving no stone un-turned!

Jason has been playing guitar for over 15 years and teaching music since 1996. His goal as a teacher is specifically designed to help you achieve your goals as an artist and a musician.

This year Jason was also the Music Director at the National Guitar Workshop Day Jams Rock Music Day Camp where students ages 7-15 came out to form bands, record original material and master their craft. He also taught beginning to advanced guitar/ vocals/ performance and songwri
ting as hosted a recording clinic at the end of each day.

Jason has host student showcases/charity benefits where his students were able to get on stage and show off their new talent and perform with other musicians. It wasn't mandatory though, if you were just looking to come out and support there was no pressure other than to come out and have fun.

Jason has been transcribing for guitar and bass since the age of 18 and since then has become a master of the craft including both 5 line staff and tablature, hand-crafted exercises and deconstructions to better enhance the students learning. Artists and genres that Jason has experience with range from Classic Rock, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Guns N' Roses, Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Robert Johnson, Pierce the Veil, Paramore, All Time Low, Demi Lava to, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Pantera, Avenged Sevenfold, The White Stripes, Green Day, Old Crow Medicine Show, Taylor Swift, Mumford and Sons, Bruno Mars, Rob Zombie, John 5, Audioslave, Rage Against the Machine, Van Morrison, the Beatles, AC/DC, ZZ-Top, Bullet For My Valentine, All That Remains, Ozzy, Black Label Society, Sublime, Aerosmith, At the Drive In, Type O Negative, the Black Keys, the Pixies, the Toadies, Black Sabbath, Jason Mraz, Lady GaGa, John Mayer and Journey.

Jason attended the University of Alaska, Anchorage where his degree is in Music and Business. He is constantly continuing his education with music theory courses as well as private guitar instruction. He attends guitar workshops and seminars by artists such as John5 and Kerry King who are known as some of the worlds finest guitar players. He reviews every day from a wide range of over 1000 sources working to become a better musician and instructor.

Another nice feature that you might enjoy from one on one sessions with Jason is learning the ability to craft and record your own songs using state of the art technology that caters to your own unique personality. There are no limits!

About Marco
He started Classical Guitar at 10 years old, at the age of 17 he shifted to Electric Guitar. In February 2010, he took the degree at the “Lizard Modern Music Academy” which is one of the most recognized Italian music schools, with Honors in the Rock-Blues course. He had private lessons and clinics with: Steve Vai (whom he played with on stage), Ritchie Kotzen, Stef Burns, Guthrie Govan, Steve Lukather, Tuck Andress…and many others. Marco played with many different bands in his career, performing thousands of concerts in Italy and Europe. He wrote as a freelance in the “Chitarre” magazine, the most important Italian magazine that talks about Guitars and music.
In Italy he taught music in the Institute of Music Pedemontana (Aviano-Budoia), Zoppola Music School (Zoppola) and music director/teacher at Varmo Music School (Udine). He also has
taught guitar in Porcia, San Quirino, at Play School Of Music (Pordenone), and at the Lizard Modern Music Academy Schools. In the fall of 2013, he created his personal project that brought him into the studio to record his first LP named, “For My Light” that was released in the winter of 2014.

A major priority of my guitar teaching is to have students making expressive music every time they touch the instrument.

I begin by working on tone production on the open strings of the guitar, so that students are able to produce a full, beautiful tone on the first day. From there, we study left- and right- hand techniques in the context of real pieces of music, giving students the chance to apply the mechanics of guitar playing to the expression of musical ideas. At the same time, I work with students through progressive studies and warm-up exercises that have built-in expressive goals, so that they can learn to rely on their own ears to further refine their playing.

As I believe that a good guitarist is, first and foremost, a strong musician, I fold a number of diverse activities into weekly lessons, developing skills in music theory, ear training, sight reading, composition, and improvisation, all of which reinforce the acquisition of strong technique.

About Jeff
I’m a composer and guitarist, with 20 years of experience playing and performing on classical and electric guitars. I’ve given solo and chamber performances across the United States, with recent Seattle performances including Astor Piazzola’s complete "Histoire du Tango", the world premiere of Brian Cobb’s "Campfire Songs," and the Seattle premiere of James Bonney’s electric guitar concerto "darkLIGHTness."

In 2010, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in classical guitar performance and composition from Stanford University, where I performed solo recitals of Bach, Mozart, Turina, and Henze, collaborated with the Stanford New Ensemble on contemporary chamber pieces, and played lead guitar in the heavy metal band Full Metal Apocalypse.
I recently received a Doctorate in music composition from the University of Washington in Seattle, wher
e I’ve taught music theory, composition, and musicianship at the college level for seven years, and where I continue to perform with the UW Modern Ensemble, Inverted Space Ensemble, and Seattle Modern Orchestra.

A major priority of my guitar teaching is to have students making expressive, compelling music every time they touch the instrument. And as I believe that a good guitarist is, first and foremost, a strong musician, I fold a number of diverse activities into weekly lessons, developing skills in music theory, fretboard knowledge, ear training, sight reading, composition, and improvisation, all of which reinforce the acquisition of strong technique.

I teach a wide array of styles—including classical, folk, rock, flamenco, and heavy metal—and I look forward to helping you realize your musical goals!

My goal as an instructor is to keep the lessons fresh, fun, interesting, and to ultimately guide the students to better teach themselves as they gain experience and familiarity with the instrument and music. Students can have their lessons catered to the music and styles they wish to pursue. Lessons are tailored to each individual student so that we can build upon their strengths and focus on lessons to improve weaker areas. Students will learn how to build dexterity, use proper technique, and be creative. Every student has different goals, some really want to learn theory and read music. Others may simply want to learn to strum a few chords. Whatever the goal, I can provide the instructions to help the student succeed!

Hey there!
My passions are technique and accuracy; by perfecting technique comes a deeper understanding of theory. I have lots of teaching methods that will encourage you to play your favorite songs and styles with the sounds you like.
I'll focus on the very basics of guitar theory in order to get to a higher level of understanding music theory.
I will challenge you! We will have lots of fun and you will see, hear, and feel your own improvements with my teachings.

About Shai
If you are fascinated about guitar technique and awesome weird sounds that you can do with your guitar, you will like having lessons with me.

I began as a classical guitar player, studying traditional classical pieces and applying them to my guitar. During that time I began to explore and became drawn to rock music, virtuoso guitarists, and heavy metal. My fascination with the electric guitar, the techniques, the speed and all the things that comes with it are still pulling me in.

Later on in life I fell in love with Flamenco, specifically Paco De Lucia.
I learned his songs and combined it with my own music while studying fusion and finger picking styles; every style I liked, I learned, I mastered, but I know, as much as I teach, I also learn.

Today I play in LA and Israel, I produce projects, record guitar tracks and songs, and teac
h at my studio or online.

As a teacher I will challenge you! I will give you multiple exercises and lots of homework. Over the years, my students have won guitar contests, gotten into successful bands, and are touring around the world. If you are willing to work hard, you will get better! You will see, hear, and feel the difference in your playing. I'll show you the way and will be with you step by step.

Looking forward to meet you!

Creating the sound you want comes from playing music with others, and playing other people's music. Together, we can learn whatever you like. And then we can record our sessions and upload them to the social media platform of your choice. I have a recording device for most every occasion. I play guitar, bass, and some percussion. And depending on what you would like to do, I will accompany you in a performance as well as help you to grow your abilities.

About Jesse
Everyone has what it takes to be great. Everyone I play music with brings character, personality, and feeling to our sessions. From the weekend warrior to the recording artist, playing is an expression of the part of you few can see. But when it hits us, we feel it. Playing guitar inspires me to be fearless, and I love that part the most.
