My first lesson with Justin went well. I have social anxiety so meeting new people is always a stressful experience for me. I was much more comfortable than expected and learned a lot. I definitely recommend Justin if you are looking for lessons in any of the areas he offers.

I have been teaching piano lessons for several years now, to students ranging from 4 to 50 years of age. In the first lesson, students can expect to learn the musical alphabet, location of middle C, the correct posture and hand position, as well as some simple musical exercises depending upon the student's age and ability. My goal in teaching is to help people gain an understanding and appreciation of the piano, as well as the workings of music as a whole. While my background is in classical piano, I enjoy working with students on any style of music that utilizes sheet music.

About Maureen
Maureen has been teaching private voice and piano lessons since 2009, and currently runs her own studio, as well as traveling to students' homes to teach lessons. She teaches anyone with an interest and willingness to learn, regardless of experience level.

Maureen received her Master of Music from the University of Maryland 2017 with an emphasis in Opera Performance. Her teaching style is tailored for each individual student, in that what works for one student won't necessarily work for the next (particularly in regards to singers), and strives towards finding the optimal method that encourages and helps students to improve. She firmly believes that anyone who is willing to dedicate the time and effort to learning a new instrument is capable of doing so, and looks forward to helping new students achieve their goals.

Maureen helped my daughter progress with the first lesson. We specified that she needed help with sight reading and the lesson consisted of exactly that. She was very thorough--kept the lesson moving but slowed down to my daughter's speed when necessary. Great first lesson.

About Pablo
In 2005 Pablo started his piano studies and also enrolled the “Faculty of Arts and Musical Sciences” at UCA University towards a Music Composition degree.

The following year Pablo started working as a composer for different purposes and media, mostly for the advertising industry, this happened to be his dawn as a music producer.

A year later in 2010, he released his first production “Piezas Meridionales”, a solo project with compositions for classical guitar.

After composing in many varieties of styles, from classical to contemporary and for many different organics; solo instrument works, full orchestras, and more, in 2011 after 5 years at UCA University, Pablo obtained his degree in Music Composition.

Experienced piano teacher of 9 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of classical skills. I specialize in technique, typically use piano adventures books, and also have the following tools available to use during lessons: a piano, metronome, etc.

About Rachel
Hi! My name is Rachel, and I have been teaching lessons professionally for over 10 years now. My primary instruments are voice and piano, and I also teach music theory/ear training/musicianship skills. I earned my degree in vocal performance from James Madison University, where I taught lessons to non-music majors as well as tutored general music for the student population. I also hold a masters degree in voice performance and pedagogy from the Peabody Conservatory. I would describe my teaching style as fun and relaxed, with a strong emphasis on healthy technique. I believe that all students should have a strong technical foundation, and that begins on day one. Genres I teach include classical, musical theatre, pop, and accompanying skills for pianists. I can also help with audition prep on both instruments. I look forward to meeting with
you!

I began taking lessons with Rachel almost two years ago because I love musical theater and singing but have never had any music education or voice classes. I was very nervous coming into my first lesson as a complete beginner with no natural talent, worried I would be too embarrassed to sing. But Rachel is so kind and really puts her students at ease - I have never felt self conscious in front of her! She has a great approach to teaching beginners.

Due to Rachel’s teaching and encouragement, I recently auditioned for a local production of a musical and got a part in the show. I never dreamed I would be good enough to be a part of the musicals I love watching and I am having the time of my life in rehearsals! I am so proud of my progress and a lot of that is due to Rachel’s skill as a teacher. She helped me with song preparation, writing a resume, and how to behave during the audition, as well as obviously all her work to improve my tone, diction, and song interpretation skills.

I couldn’t read music and in the beginning had no interest in learning, and Rachel never made me do tedious music theory work instead of doing the “fun part”... BUT through our lessons I came to understand what value being able to read music had and became self motivated to learn more about reading music and some music theory. Now I can play my melodies on the piano and have a greater understanding of music that has enhanced my singing practice! My point here is that Rachel has a very holistic approach to teaching and I have picked up very important skills as a musician without feeling frustrated! I also very much enjoyed learning some classical songs which I wasn’t sure I would like - but not only were they great to work on to learn better voice skills, they were super fun.

I am so glad I began lessons with Rachel. I would recommend her to ANYONE looking to become a better singer. She has made singing so fun and enabled me to do things I never thought I could! I’d give her ten stars if that was an option.

I teach students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of classical piano skills. I typically use Bastien books, and incorporate sheet music as well.

About Tammy
Hi, I’m Tammy!
I’m good at forming strong personal connections, and my desire is for students to enjoy and excel at playing the piano. I've been teaching private lessons out of my home and at a local music shop, and have loved helping my students learn to play and read music, prepare for recitals, and prepare for solos and accompaniment at their schools and churches. I’m patient, encouraging, and like to see students really understand music and grow in their ability to play. My lessons are challenging, but fun. I like students to choose some of their own music and participate in choosing their direction and pace. I find that playing songs they know and like helps to facilitate at home practice and faster learning, as students enjoy their practice time! I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

I have 13 years of experie
nce taking piano lessons. During that time I played with my church’s music team, accompanied a choir, and became an experienced soloist and accompanist. I have experience accompanying singers, choirs, violinists, and bands. I additionally competed in music competitions and took home the highest award for piano in the state of Wisconsin, and accompanied several singers who also received highest awards. I was accepted into the University of Wisconsin Madison School of Music, but after my first year chose to shift my focus to the sciences, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Biology, followed by attending Northwestern Health Sciences University where I received a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. After a successful career in chiropractic, I sold my practice to become a homemaker and tutor, and am excited to once again return to my first love, music.

Experienced teacher, pianist, and composer with two music master's degrees (composition from the Guildhall School of Music and jazz performance from the New England Conservatory). I teach all ages and levels in classical piano, improvisation, composition, songwriting, and music theory. I have a flexible schedule and want to make sure our time fits your needs.

About Phillip
I think we live in a great time to be making music as more and more genre-bending art takes center stage. My lessons reflect this. I have extensive training in classical music and jazz as a performer, composer, and improviser. I want to give lessons that are exciting to you, but also bring in new perspectives from overlapping musical practices. For example, I will create graphic-score compositions with your seven-year-old beginner piano student, I will improvise with a high school aged composition student, and I will assign some classical repertoire to an adult jazz student. I will always teach with the aim of providing technical knowledge in service of your artistic goals, as my own best mentors have done.

My own studies have taken me from Harvard (BA in English, where I also studied with jazz pianist Vijay Iyer) to London (Master's in
Composition from The Guildhall School of Music) and back to Boston (Master's in Jazz Performance from The New England Conservatory). I play in a number of bands that play improvised music. I also have many composition projects and extensive training in classical piano repertoire. I split my time between the scenes in New York and Boston.

I hope I can be of use to you to teach classical piano, improvisation, music theory, songwriting, composition, or jazz vocabulary!

Every career in music starts with a moment of pure musical amazement:

Wow! How can I do THAT?!

Ultimately, my job as a teacher is to help you or your child find THOSE MOMENTS in their own musical education. I am not the Russian teacher with a ruler who slaps the knuckles of a student who flubs their C major scale. I'm the teacher who shows you what learning scales can DO for you. Although student accountability is key, I realize that the biggest part of my job is giving you a reason WHY you should practice and illuminate the beautiful things that can be accomplished with discipline and explored creativity. To do so, I use my holistic understanding of music to expose my students to musical styles, genres, and performance approaches that unlock their creativity and expand their worldview.

I received my Masters in Film music composition from the University of Southern California. I teach piano, guitar, bass, mandolin, drums, composition, songwriting, and audio productions. But my ...

About Alex
I am a diverse musician who loves sharing my passion for music. Not only am I a professional jazz pianist who studied classical music with renowned concert pianists at the University of Houston, I am also a professional film composer in Los Angeles where I received my Masters in Screen Scoring from the University of California.

Although I have many different areas of expertise, the common thread that unites them is a holistic understanding of music, authentic musical performance, and a curiosity to grow musically. As someone who writes music for 90-piece orchestras, jazz bands, or even a musical theater number, I pride myself on being able to meet the needs of literally any student. No matter the music. Whether it's heavy metal rock riffs, classical sonatas, or jazz improvisation, I have made my living writing and performing all of the a
bove.

Reach out for lessons if you are curious to expand your musical tastes, and have interest in being CREATIVE while you play, not simply reading off a page like a robot. Outside-the-box students are some of the best to work with, and I appreciate any students that are driven to learn and expand what they know!
