Having a variety of experiences professionally and academically, I am very well suited to cater to the interests of my students. I am currently getting my Master's degree in classical guitar performance, but I often include a variety of styles in order to motivate your practice times at home. Whether you want really nail the sound of a Black Sabbath riff, learn to solo over a blues progression, or even learn a piano piece on guitar. I can help give you the tools to form your own musical identity.

About Seth

In my lessons, I make sure that I do my best to serve your interests. No matter what style of music you are passionate about, I want to help you develop that passion into musical ability. This is done through practice, analysis, reading, and listening. Even if you want to focus on metal or popular

That bone crushing riff, the iconic solo, an instantly recognizable reverb-laden intro: everyone has guitar hero fantasies, and it's my goal to bring students from 'if only I could play that' to actually playing. But I go further than just teaching riffs and solos: I focus on learning songs and teaching basic chord and scale theory to develop technical ability and improvisational technique. I also believe learning is exponentially easier when students enjoy the songs they play, so ideally all learning material is based off of the student's individual music library. I aim to help you get that song out of your head and into your hands.

About Cole

I'm a student at Washington University by way of Chicago. I play guitar and bass in various St. Louis groups, and have been playing guitar for over a decade. I have a thorough understanding of music theory, and emphasize familiarity with harmonic theory and learning why parts work in songs rather t

Once we learn how to read, nothing can stop us from playing! After that it all depends on what you want to do with your guitar. Classical guitar is a gate to all music genres and music theory will definitely bring your level higher + it gives you confidence.
-Also as a performance major musician, I have the ability to play the techniques I teach and simply explain how it is done in today's guitar world.

I took around 15 lessons for bass guitar with James and really enjoyed it. James was able to tailor the experience for what I wanted, which was heavy on music theory, but still made sure we applied the theory to the instrument. I had prior experience with some music theory and playing, but hadn't touched my bass in almost 10 years. James was able to figure out exactly where to pick up, provided great materials, and kept me engaged. James is very knowledgeable, a great player, and a cool cat.

James is a highly qualified instructor and was very thoughtful in answering my questions. I was impressed with the amount of resources he had on hand, such as worksheets, method books, sheet music, etc. I would definitely recommend James for anyone curious about learning music theory and/or the many instruments he plays.

"Jason is a phenomenal instructor. As an older student who is not musically inclined and is just picking up the instrument seriously for the first time, I was apprehensive about taking lessons. Jason has made the process interesting, fun, and informative.

I have only been taking lessons for a few months and beyond learning songs, Jason has given me instruction on guitar maintenance (beyond the everyday care of the instrument) and music theory. I think his holistic approach to playing the guitar really sets him apart from other instructors. I always come away from each lesson feeling that I learned something new and valuable.

Jason really caters to the individual learning styles of his students. I travel often for work and he has found ways for me to continue to learn, even if I don't have my instrument with me. He is also tremendously knowledgeable and patient. If a certain style of learning doesn't seem to be sticking, he will find new and creative ways to teach until the idea resonates with the student.

I feel very fortunate to have found Jason as an instructor. I unreservedly give him the highest of recommendations."

"Steve has been a really great teacher! He's formally trained, very attentive, and really into what he's doing as a musician and teacher. It's just a great experience. He can teach from material or teach by ear and in just the few weeks we've been meeting we've covered music theory, scale modes, blues, jazz, pop and rock styles, general guitar technique, and now we're even getting into learning and analyzing solos by David Gilmour from Pink Floyd (an all-time favorite of mine). I'd recommend him to anyone looking to dive deeper into guitar and music in general. Thanks, Steve!"

He learned so many new things this first lesson and can't wait for the next one. David was so patient and kind with my teen, who is on the spectrum. We highly recommend him."

"I've been playing guitar for 28 years and Robert has done more to advance my playing in the last 5 months than anything else I've done over that time. Whether online or in person, Robert has a great mix of laid back attitude with a task-master's approach; he encourages his students to have fun with the guitar, but to take it and their work with it seriously. In a really short time, I've picked up a wealth of music theory and my technique has improved dramatically. Most importantly, I'm having more fun playing than I have in years. I can't recommend Robert highly enough."
