**Currently accepting new students of all ages and instruments. Also able to do lessons every other week. ** (10/26/17)

As a professional brass musician, I have been teaching brass instruments for over ten years.

For the beginner level, I have introduced many students to their first instrument ensuring that fundamentals are in place. At the intermediate level, I have helped many students advance in competitions and seat assignments within their band program. As a collegiate educator, I have given masterclasses at universities and private lessons to music performance students preparing for auditions and solo recitals.

I have taught online lessons for over four years and have used multiple online communication platforms to teach effective lessons. My students truly enjoy the online interaction during their lessons.

I have taught a wide variety of ages - everyone from 10 years old to 65 years old. One of the great joys I have in teaching is that each student brings their ...

Jeremy S. has been teaching private brass lessons for over 10 years and is currently available to teach weekly lessons at his home in Centerburg, OH or online via the TakeLessons Classroom, Skype, Facetime, Google Hangouts, VSee, or AppearIn. Jeremy received his training
at Grace College in 2010, where he received a Bachelors of Music in Instrumental Performance. In addition, he attended the Carnegie Mellon University in 2012 where he received a Masters in Music. He has studied with Peter Sullivan, Jim Kraft, John Kitzman, and Graeme Mutchler.

Jeremy's teaching style is positive, supportive, patient and constructive, focused on the individual student's needs, and enjoyable. Jeremy took the time to get to know my son's skill level and knowledge level. He related what he was teaching to other activities important to my child. My son learned more in his first lesson with Jeremy than in a year of private face to face lessons at school. Most importantly, when the lesson was finished, my son wanted to keep playing and playing because he was so excited about what he learned.

I can help beginners get started or coach advanced students who are preparing for auditions.

About Thomas
Thomas J. W. is an active music teacher, composer, adjudicator, and clinician in the greater Philadelphia area. He has over fifteen years experience as a concert band director, marching band director, jazz improvisation instructor, choral director, private instructor, and marching drill writer. His directing career has included small rural band programs, small metro programs, large high-achieving suburban programs, and non-profit youth bands. In addition to his band compositions, he also has over forty unpublished vocal arrangements to his credit, most written for use with collegiate men's a cappella groups. Thomas taught over 600 online and local private music lessons in 2016.

Thomas has a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from The Pennsylvania State University. He holds a teaching certificate in the states of Pennsylvania
and New Jersey and has taught at the secondary level in both states. In addition to both instrumental and choral ensembles at Penn State, Thomas was a student leader in the Penn State Blue Band and a member of the brass section of the Cadets of Bergen County Drum and Bugle Corps in 1993 and 1994. He served as an Associate Director of the Warren Junior Military Band of Youngstown, Ohio from 1995 to 2005. He also served as a visual staff member for the renowned North Penn Marching Knights of Lansdale, PA for one season in 2004.

He is a current adjudicator with Drum Corps International and Cavalcade of Bands. He is a member of MENC, PMEA, NJMEA, ASCAP, CASA, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and the National Band Association. He appeared in the Marquis Who's Who Among American Educators in 2004 and 2005, an honor rarely bestowed upon teachers, as students who appear in the Who's Who Among American High School Students must nominate them. He currently is a music teacher at the Center for Performing and Fine Arts of the PA Leadership Charter School in West Chester, PA and resides in Downingtown, PA with his wife and two sons.

Thomas will happily work with students on the autism spectrum or students with ADD.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons are tailored to the needs and interests of each student. If a student is involved in school music ensembles, we will work with their lesson books from school in addition to material outside of the books, including SmartMusic, Noteflight, and teacher-created materials. We will focus on building proper tone production and individual technique - something that often is difficult to learn in a large ensemble setting.

I am capable of starting a beginner student on any band instrument including percussion, any classical string instrument (violin, viola, cello, string bass), and piano. I can begin a student on drum set and work with them through their first method book, but I would then recommend they find a specialized drum set teacher after a period of six to twelve months.

For advanced students, I work from selected conservatory etude books on developing advanced skills and can work with students on audition pieces for honors bands/orchestras or college auditions.

My lessons are a half-hour once a week, with the option of working for 45 minutes or 60 minutes.

*** Specialties ***
music, band, orchestra, flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, violin, viola, cello, string bass, piano, Percussion
classical, jazz improvisation

The Trombone is the single most powerful acoustic instrument in terms of size and efficiency. The thing's a cannon, and one just has to know how to use it right. My lessons will focus on enriching tone, increasing lung capacity, improving slide dexterity, strengthening embouchure, sharpening intonation (pun intended) and having fun with the mightiest of all wind instruments.

About Kenny
I am a professional working musician and a licensed K-12 instructor in the State of Louisiana, having graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelors of Music Education, with a Minor in Jazz Studies in the spring of 2016. I play the guitar (electric, steel/ nylon string acoustic), the trombone (tenor/ bass), and the drums (kit).
Guitar students can and should expect to improve in some facet every week after every lesson. Every person approaches music differently, and thereby, approaches the guitar differently. Different bodies mean different physical methods for successful playing. Different brains mean different musical realities- and whatever the state of yours is, I want to help you make it better.
There are so many different ways to be musical, and as your teacher I want to make you aware of them, and help you use every
tool in your toolbox, as well as give you some new ones. Music is not too vast to understand, and all it takes is one little push to be off on your way, making your own musical adventures.
As someone who has thrived in most ensemble scenarios from Concert Bands, Orchestras, Big Bands, to Rock Bands and Jazz Combos, I can help prepare you for any musical undertaking. I love students who love music and want to get better at it, regardless of what style it might be in.
So whoever you are, whatever you like, and wherever your skills are at, I want to help- to impart you with skills and knowledge you might need to play at the level you want. I look forward to meeting you and helping you be even more awesome!

I was given homework last week. Came back today & nailed it! That's what he said. Still a long way from being a singer(my opinion). I'm still nervous & in my box but at least my box is open now. Ron's so great at what he does, he could make the sun freeze. After 20+ yrs of not being able to sing & only 3 lessons with Ron I can sing a Sandi Patty song then you know Ron's the man to call if you want to learn to sing. He'll make it happen!...Piece of advice, relax ;)

About Ashley
Music has always been a passion of mine since I was a young girl. I was born in Bronx, New York and raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from South Carolina State University in Music. I was in many ensembles from elementary school through college. I participated in Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Quartets, Choir, Show Choir, and so many more. My experience in Music is very profound. However, I enjoy teaching it. My main instruments are my voice and trombone, however, along the years I picked up and continue to master them on my own. I am proficient in flute, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, piano, and acoustic guitar. t is very easy for me to do that. I absolutely
love teaching. I believe in my students and do not stop motivating them through my education. I am a very patient, energetic, and understand person not only in the classroom but in general. I make music fun, yet very understandable.
