I will share personal stories and things that happened when I was learning, that if someone had told me different I would not have offended people. I will teach you by association and explain why some signs are what they are. If you are looking for a fun , and informative class sign up for mine today.

About Starrla

I am an instructor at the local Technology Center. I have been signing since 1990. I started out in a night college class as a junior in high school. My dad told me I needed to get a head start on my college life. I asked him what was I going to take...He opened up the newspaper and there it was

Starlla is amazing she is very patient, doesn’t mind me asking all kinds of questions or doubts I may have on the lesson. She has a very positive attitude and makes you feel at ease which helps a lot when you are a beginner.

Starla makes it a point that you understand why certain signs are signed the way that they are and gives examples to make it much easier for you to remember. Patience is what she has a lot of. Trust me, if she can be have patience with me, you got it made in the shade. She will continue to go over and over signs with you until you got it down pat. If you are looking to learn ASL, I highly recommend Starla.

I just completed my 3rd 30 minute session with Tanya. I started out taking 5 sessions with a much cheaper instructor, which resulted in a much cheaper learning experience. It was very stressful for me to sign up for 5 classes with Tanya that I thought I couldn't afford, but to be honest, I ended each of the first three classes saying to myself, "That was worth the money!" The quality of Tanya's video is excellent. She tailors the session to my individual needs. There is no rigid program to follow. It is clear that Tanya is very knowledgeable and experienced with both signing ASL and with teaching ASL. She is teaching me things I would never have learned on the internet. I have signed up for 10 additional 30 minute sessions with Tanya (15 in total so far). It turns out it was never a matter of what I could afford. It was only a matter of what I choose to prioritize.

"Eduardo is an excellent ASL instructor; helpful, patient, friendly, and fun to work with. As a member of the deaf community he has valuable insights and interesting tidbits of information. He is a wealth of knowledge. He is kind, caring, and always well-prepared, and did I mention patient?? Thank goodness, because sometimes I feel pretty slow. He is very encouraging and helpful. He communicates well, whether through signs, facial expressions, typing, or verbally. Excellent instructor."

"Just did the free intro class with you and really enjoyed it! You were patient and repeated things slowly when we needed it. My son's review: "I loved it and I learned a lot!"
My almost 10yr old son took it with me as he's been wanting to learn sign language to help him communicate. He's ADHD and gets frustrated super fast and likes to communicate non verbally when he's mad so we've been looking to learning "officially". We learned today the colors of the rainbow along with his favorite color gold, numbers and letters. We hope to take a paid class soon when we have discretionary funds :)"

"I take group lessons online. I enjoy taking classes with Eduardo! I used to get very nervous if I made a mistake. Now if I make a mistake its corrected and he encourages to make your best guess. Without that I think I wouldn't have built up my confidence in myself. He teaches you the rules of ASL but shows you how to put your personality and emotion into it. You cant go wrong learning with him. All of this from just group lessons. He's an amazing teacher!"
