Cyndi's training began at age 8 where she studied classical piano for 6 years. By age 15, she and her brother released their first independent single which did reasonably well locally. By age 19, while studying music at Ohio University, she along with her brother won "Right On" magazine's nationwide talent search and were offered two major recording contracts. She decided to sign with Philadelphia International Records under the auspices of Grammy Award winning producer, Thom Bell (who was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame). She is as comfortable teaching the beginner as she is instructing the seasoned professional who wants to hone their skills even further. She can always bring something out of you that you didn't know was there. Maybe it's the confidence that she exudes when she instructs, maybe it's her innate ability to know what's needed at any given time to make the student better. But whatever it is, you can rest assured that your lesson will be fun, thorough, and the lesson plan that she devises will cause you to arrive at the musical goals that you've set for yourself. She can help you or your child prepare for upcoming auditions, as well as any other scheduled performance. Cyndi will create a lesson plan that will certainly be tailor-made for your style and needs.
*** Studio Equipment *** Piano
*** Travel Equipment *** I can bring my Cd player to play tracks etc....the student should have a recording device to record the lesson, whatever performance tracks we'd be working from, and a keyboard would be helpful but not necessary.
*** Specialties *** My style of vocal training concentrates on singing in the 'Ng" position and using cuperto as the primary way to produce more tone with less effort. I also train my students to breath properly utilizing the lower lumbar area along with breathing from their diaphragm. I generally train vocal students in all genres of music and I stress stage presence in conjunction with proper vocal technique.
My background is in classical and jazz voice, but I believe I can teach just about any genre of singing. Technic is an integral part of lessons with me!
I am a graduate of Lawrence University with a BA in Music (Piano) and German. I've played piano for more than 20 years, but in college performed more with voice. In college as a BA candidate I was able to take a variety of lessons, including classical piano (my major), jazz piano, classical voice, and jazz voice. One of my favorite projects in college included a recital comprised of all the types of music I love playing and learning about such as a solo piano piece, a few piano duets, a piece where I sang and accompanied myself, a vocal jazz small group, and a few others.
Taking lessons with me I can teach you specifics on classical voice or piano and jazz voice or piano, but we can also work on combining them!
*** Lesson Details *** Lessons with me will be laid-back but focused. Each student will receive an individualized curric
ulum based upon their needs/wants from their lessons. Believe me, I've had some bone-dry teachers in the past, and if you're not having fun and liking what you're doing, you're most likely going to forget the lesson you just had. We're going to learn by having fun and doing what I love most!
*** Studio Equipment *** Music room, full-sized live-action keyboard, two chairs and bench, mirror, room for parents wait
*** Travel Equipment *** Students need to have a piano or a full-sized keyboard on which to practice or have lessons.
*** Specialties *** Personally I am interested in many different genres of music (classical voice, jazz voice, classical piano, jazz piano, accompanying), and in college I was able to take many different kinds of lessons to fulfill my needs. As a result, I feel very comfortable teaching others about all sorts of different genres of music.
Jane is VERY patient and super fun! Our daughter is a tough cookie, but she absolutely adores Miss Jane and has done her best piano work since starting with her. I highly recommend her! And the ability for lessons to be in the home is just beyond convenient.
September 16, 2015
We had our first lesson with Jane last night. Lily is a tough cookie, but Jane handled her REALLY well. Also LOVE having the lesson in our home. With our busy schedules, it's nice being able to keep my daughter in lessons but not have to trek her to a school.
We're looking forward to a long relationship with Jane (hopefully)!

Ramona is great. She is so calm and patient with me. She teaches in a way that makes it's fun and enjoyable rather than technical in the beginning. She gives you homework so you can practice at home. The homework is not burdensome because you will leave the lesson excited to go home and practice what you learned.

Ramona was great! Very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and creative!
I've taught students who have never taken a voice lesson before and those who have been singing and studying for 10+ years.
I especially love teaching those who are new to singing because there are issues in confidence and finding the unique qualities for their voice while still building healthy vocal technique. If this is an issue for an advanced singer, I'd love to help out.

I address classes according to student's needs and interests. Fun, instructive, creative and with a strong sense of good taste while performing. My interest is to guide students to find their personalities while doing what they like the most. With about 12 years of experience in the field, it is vital to me to create a connection with my students, so they can understand the depth of the knowledge I teach by passion. I would like to offer exposure for those ones interested, and I like to record and produce my students, so they can appreciate progress and to take proud of their achievements. Music creates and shapes personalities. It develops the inner world and can become a powerful tool in these times that run. We all need music, is not a lie. We all were born with its MAGIC!
I am a professional Pianist, Composer, Choir Conductor, and Vocalist who also write songs, orchestrate, and make arrangements. Cuban who studied primarily in Cuba (ENA and ISA), and finished studying in the USA. I have played in several important Concert Halls, among them, it is included Carnegie Hall in NY. I have worked on several projects including music for TV and Musical Theater.
I am the owner and funder of MusiKon Edge Productions. The idea started some time ago and now is becoming true. As part of my offer to students, it is my interest to produce them, so they can be more creative and the process becomes interesting and fun.
Even though I studied Classical Piano, I love Pop Music, Jazz, and I am always open to new genres, as long it is done with good taste and makes a positive impact on others. Creative, fun, professional
and knowledgeable is the way I define my ART.
I have won several awards since I was younger after starting studying music at the age of 15, and since then I have had an intense career performing and creating music for endless different projects, such as playing music alive for a play, composing music for Symphonic Orchestra, Contemporary music for different formats (like piano, violin, and clarinet), or even Musical Theater.
Teaching is one of my passions, and I have seen some of my students to be successful in National Musical Contests, such in Jazz in WorldStrides on Stage in New York City.
All i can say is, Wow! All i know is that I've mad a great decision choosing Waldo. I've only met Waldo one time and it felt like I met him all my life. Waldo has a great personality I see why he's so successful in what he does, I'm so excited on what's to come. I know Waldo is going to push me and I'm ready to put in the work.
February 12, 2018
Waldo is an excellent instructor, very attentive, patient and is helping me a lot with the theoretical part, which is my main goal with the classes. Strongly recommend him, also because he's teaching me how to sing (which I'm terrible btw LOL) as a bonus.
November 12, 2017
My 8 year old son had his second lesson and it is looking promising! Waldo is able to capture his attention and motivate him to learn! My kid is quick to tell you when he doesn’t want to do something anymore and when it comes to his piano lesson he’s ready to go! Looking forward to seeing his progression and love for music grow! I think we have the right teacher!
"I have learned so many new techniques and skills as a performer, recording music and as a singer as well from Kait. She has taught me the techniques for
all styles of music from Broadway to Jazz. I have also learned the etiquette and tricks for recording music. She is an amazing singer, performer, instructor and friend and I would recommend her to anyone who has any interest in these skills."
"Tony is a great teacher and my daughter loves her lessons with him...very personable and accommodating..We highly recommend him.. she has learned so much
already and most important is she is gaining a lot of confidence."
"I started just about 3 months ago. I'm 53 and never sang before. (Mouthed the words when the nuns made the class sing in grade school). I always though
t that being a singer was an instinctive talent. Now I believe that with Val's help and guidance I can become a singer. I can feel and hear my voice developing. It will take time, but I have the confidence that it can happen based upon my progress so far."
"I'm on my way because of Vanessa
When I started training with Vanessa I had not had any formal education on singing since middle school. I needed to re-l
earn my fundamentals of singing. Her warm and encouraging teaching style made me comfortable immediately. She quickly found out where I was lacking and taught me I can be in control if I learn how to Breath while singing. Sounds easy right? Well no Vanessa really had to break my bad singing techniques because I wasn't using breath control. Well now my breathing and my tone has developed all due to Vanessa giving me the tools to sing properly. I highly recommend her if you are a serious student wanting to achieve your own sound properly and save your vocal chords from burning out due to bad form."
"My 12-yr old daughter had a great first lesson. Julie was just right in every way with starting from the beginning, music selection, everything. My daught
er had been nervous because she has no experience and is shy, but Julie made her feel very comfortable right off the bat. Looking forward to the next lesson!"
"Dr. M. is an amazing teacher. Worked with me to overcome my shyness. Professional, and patient. Will recommend to anyone who is seeking vocal lessons."

"Learning more than I ever expected to learn!
I guess I went into singing lessons rather naïve because I thought my greatest challenge was singing on pit
ch..... I strum my guitar and want to be able to sing songs too, but was always out of tune, so thus never sang. Well, JoAnn has not only helped me find my pitch, she has opened my eyes to the whole process of vocalizing. Pitch is critical of course, but resonance and sound quality are equally as important, and as she helped me with my resonance the pitch problems began to disappear! In four short months I am a vastly better singer..... And through the comfortable no-pressure process I am also learning general music fundamentals which have helped tremendously. I highly recommend JoAnn for shy and insecure beginners like me, and, from what I saw and heard at our recent informal recital at her home, she works just as well with accomplished singers."
My daughter, who is 12, learned so much from Gaw. She improved greatly under Gaw's instruction. I highly recommend Gaw for anyone looki
ng for a teacher for their kids, or themselves! She was honest, but kind, and really encouraged my daughter to reach her potential. You will no be disappointed with her."
If you're looking to teach yourself to sing on key, it's important to remember that it has as much - if not more - to do with training your ear as it does with training your voice. And since we can't hear ourselves sing accurately, we need recording equipment or another trusted pair of ears to check our results. With the advent of smartphones and tablets, tools that will help you teach yourself to sing on key are now readily available alongside more traditional methods. Here are five methods y …
