I'm an accomplished accompanist and vocalist, with 10 plus years of expertise. Currently, I’m a volunteer worship leader at church, for over 6 years; helping other musicians fulfill their ultimate potential through training and education. Collaborate with other musicians for worship opportunities and projects. Been able to facility vocal training, how to lead a worship experience and which instrumentation and vocal concepts to are appropriate.
Played piano at Von Maur, for 6 months where I utilized my piano skills to provide entertainment and guest requests.
Currently have many different music students, where each week we assess their strengths that fulfill their
ultimate potential, through activities and diverse learning concepts.

*** Lesson Details ***
I believe that all musicians have the abilities to fulfill their ultimate potential; by assessing students learning styles, accessing community resources and just having fun learning musical concepts.
Curriculum examples that I would utilize for piano would be Adventures in Piano and Succeeding at the Piano. For the vocal students I utilize Exceptional Musicianship, created by Hal Leonard for accurate vocal techniques.
Within 3 months the students will have opportunities to demonstrate their musical abilities. I will provide opportunities for students to demonstrate musical expertise through recitals and other events.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Main Room: electric keyboard (full 88 keys), couch, TV, and a chair, book cases, parents can sit in the lesson (encouraged)

*** Travel Equipment ***
The expectation is that the students must have access to a piano and audio equipment for their success.

*** Specialties ***
The musical genres I'm an expert include Broadway, Show Choir, Faith-Based, Classical, Jazz, Pop, Performing Arts, Acting, Staging, Costuming, Props. I believe that students need to have access with various musical styles that will aid their musical abilities.

*** Lesson Details ***

As a HARP teacher, all of my
students play scales, arpeggios, and technical exercises in
their lessons. I believe having a strong technical base is the foundation for
every part of playing and you can't learn without it. I will set the repertoire
for students according to their technical progress and although I may
take into consideration a student's desires to learn a certain piece, there has
to be time and they have to be ready for it. I have both short term and long
term goals for each student that involve theory, technical ability, and
repertoire: fun, orchestral and solo. Adult students still have to learn
technique, it makes things much more fun and easy six months later, I promise! Beginning students will learn how to read notes, understand basic theory, and technique in a short amount of time, so don't be scared if you have never had a music lesson before.

I require all students make
at least half an hour a day commitment to practice. I teach mostly the Grandjany method of harp technique, however, I also use Salzedo and Renie methods
at times to fit a particular students' build and unique physical attributes as well as what the piece requires. I
have studied all techniques throughout my education and I find them all
beneficial for different reasons. I do, however, believe everyone is built
differently and the technique should help the harpist play and not hinder them
from achieving their goals. Everyone learns at a different speed, but as a
brand new musician, after six months practicing regularly, you should be able
to read music fluently, understand basic theory concepts, be able to play with
both hands and four fingers on each hand, play all of the basic scales and
arpeggios musically and be able to play at least one piece memorized.
Curriculum is based on the student's technical ability and issues and is
individually created – if you learn slower than someone else, don’t worry about
your pace. In the end, lessons are about you personally and not someone else.

As a PIANO teacher, I want students to learn about music and not just the piano. Students will learn basic music theory and basic scales as a part of their lessons. They will also occasionally choose a song of their choosing to work on chords. I do promote note reading and theory, so I am not the right teacher for students who don't want to invest time in learning the basics. These basics are the building blocks of all music and can be used for any instrument the student chooses to learn in the future.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have harps and a piano at my studio, so you do not need to bring your harp to lessons. If you don't own a harp, you can rent one for around $45/month from several sources.

*** Specialties ***
HARP - Grandjany Technique with an incorporation of Salzedo and French school depending on the player's body type and technical difficulties. I make use of the ABRSM as well as local, national, and international competitions depending on the student's level of commitment.

PIANO - I teach basic piano for fun through an Intermediate level. Although some students choose to take CM and ABRSM exams, I do not push them. I want students to enjoy piano and music lessons.

We had some bumps in the road as we were new to the program Ms Charlotte used, however once we were finally connected the lesson went well. My son Jake is 9 and is struggling with vocabulary and reading comprehension and he is not a fan of tutoring, however Ms Charlotte was able to win him over in the first lesson so that says a lot about her ability to engage children.

About Susanne
At the age of 12, I discovered what an amazing and versatile instrument the piano can be, and have been studying it, as well as eventually teaching others about its possibilities, ever since. I have had the privilege of playing for a variety or groups and soloists, as lead pianist for many musicals with many different theater groups, playing worship music for my church, accompanying choirs from professional through high school groups, going to various music festivals, playing with orchestras and in professional bands and much, much more! I want to share this wealth of knowledge and experience with my students, and help them succeed in whatever type of music they most enjoy playing.

I "study" each student and adjust my teaching style to fit their learning style. I make sure my students know the basics of note reading, rhythm and theo
ry, and then expand the instruction to include whatever most inspires them; classics, Christian, jazz, improvisation, playing by chord or anything else. I set a very specific practice plan for each student every week, so that - with regular and precise practice at home - each student can achieve great results.

About John
I am a college student at Westminster Choir College, who has been studying piano for a while now. I am well versed in classical repertoire such as Bach, Brahms, Chopin and more. I think there is a certain up I have personally. I can relate to my student because of my age and I can craft a lesson where I can be more relatable to the student because of my age. I start with the basics and work our way up, starting with easy exercises that challenge the brain and that target certain areas. With those addressed, we then move on to repertoire that also highlights critical points of study that the student needs to address. The Bach Inventions can target fingering issues and use of counterpoint among the hands. I teach block chords and elemental piano skills before moving onto harder concepts like triplets and 3 against 2.

I have studied with
Ms. Jean Schneider, she is an accompanist with the Michigan Opera Theatre and personal pianist for freelance gigs. I am now currently studying with Dr. Parente of Westminster Choir College. He has written books, played in concert halls around the world and strives to get all his students in flow, to perform at their very best.Outside piano, I am a classical singer, studying as a baritone, who is training with Sharon Sweet of Westminster Choir College. Please feel free to ask about a resume as I would be happy to provide one. My name on Facebook is John Vandevert, feel free to reach out.
