We'll work on learning your favorite songs, ear training, theory, improvisation, and nailing the sounds and styles of your favorite guitarists!
STUDYING WITH ME:
Learning guitar should be interesting and fun! While we're studying all the different aspects of the instrument, you'll also be learning how to play your favorite songs and solos! I approach each student as an individual and structure their lessons according to what I determine they need, as well as what they are interested in musically. I concentrate on many different areas; ear training, theory, playing technique, improvisation, various styles of music, and, the physics of the guitar. Understanding how the instrument works is important in my opinion. My long term goal is to teach a student how they can teach themselves down the line. Understanding why you’re playing something is just important as knowing how to play it. I aim to give a student rich and well rounded one-on-one time!
ave been teaching and performing for over a decade both in the US, and in England. I have played in various bands and have produced independent artists. I have worked for a recording studio and for various academic institutions including the Filomen M. D'Agostino Greenberg Music School in New York city.
I obtained my degree from Purchase College in New York and am a member of their Conservatory of Music.
*** Lesson Details *** I construct lessons for each individual student depending on their musical tastes, goals, and current skill level etc. I want each person to get as much from their time studying with me as possible. Within three to six months, I'll have you working on timing, theory, ear training, improv, and songs/styles of music you may be interested in. I'm laid back, however, I expect at least the minimum practice time between lessons, which I'll change throughout the course of our time together depending on your skill level etc. Practice materials I draw up are included. I write out everything in plain English and do not require the use of sheet music!
*** Studio Equipment *** Small recording studio, piano, various guitars, bass, and amps.
*** Travel Equipment *** guitar, bass, laptop, digital recorder.
*** Specialties *** I concentrate on ear training, improvisation, and explore styles ranging from pop, alternative, rock, prog, and blues, to metal, funk, and folk etc. I do not require sight reading skills for any level of student. Rather, I work with the student with theory and arrangement conventions to really understand the music. This intern, greatly sharpens their musical ear and helps them to learn music much faster because they understand how it is put together; why and how it works, etc.
***Teaching Special Needs*** I have experience teaching students who have been visually impaired, blind, hearing impaired, or who have had mild learning disabilities. I am also comfortable with a student bringing their service dog or therapy dog to our lessons if they wish.
Cameron is an excellent teacher for me. I am 11 years old and have been playing for almost a year with him. He is patient and makes me stretch to be a better guitarist. He takes time to find songs at my level of learning and accommodates my tastes in music. I would recommend him for anyone who is interested in playing guitar.

I enjoyed my first lesson with Cameron. He explained things clearly so I could understand. Can't wait for my next lesson.

A solid teacher with a lot of experience
Cameron is great at tailoring the lessons to my musical taste without compromising the theory, basics and fundamentals.
I have been taking lessons for one year and will not go elsewhere anytime soon. His vast musical knowledge helps merge the theory with concrete examples. No question remains unanswered.
Any student that takes lessons from me can expect to take their playing to the next level with guidance and patience from me as the teacher.
Hi! My name is Megan. I am a Wichita State graduate with a degree in music education. I have taught mandolin/violin/viola lessons for the past 7 years in Wichita, KS and in the KC area. I am also a elementary strings teacher for the KCK school district. Besides teaching music, I have also played mandolin/viola for several music projects from a typical Irish band to a free improve jazz ensemble. I am a very versatile player so I can teach/play from Irish to rock to jazz.
*** Lesson Details *** When it comes to teaching private music lessons, I am a laid back teacher but I still have high expectations for each student. I really do not have a set curriculum because each student wants to learn something different.I use all my resources I have in order to meet the student's need. Whatever a student's avenue they want to take, I am confide
nt the student will have that much more knowledge before they had started. I can teach mandolin any level and violin I can teach through book 3 of Suzuki or any other method book and viola through book 2 of Suzuki
*** Studio Equipment *** Be in an open room much like a living room with amps, instruments, and other musical equipment.
*** Travel Equipment *** I expect the student to have their own instrument. I expect them to have their own music stand and an amp if need be. I will provide copies of music at a small charge ($5) and would be willing to purchase the material if the student gives the money up front.
*** Specialties *** For the most part, I play Irish, Jazz, Blues, and Classical.

A job provides money. A career provides income over a longer term. But, guitar...guitar is part of who I am.
My passion for guitar and music has been alive as long as I can remember. Don't get me wrong, guitar and I had our ups and downs. Serious issues! At times guitar was stubborn and difficult. In fact, while attending the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago on the Presidential Scholarship in Classical Guitar Performance, there were days when I considered ending my relationship with guitar. But, I stayed with guitar. With dedication to our relationship and a lot of work, we are still together and happier than ever. And, here to help you work on your relationship with your guitar.
Fundamentals in electric guitar playing both in rhythm and lead. explored in depth through exercises, scales, arpeggios, popular songs, and creative composing techniques.

“Music study was a way for me to find structure, discipline, self worth and expression. Through that I have grown as a person and a musician. Ryan is professional and easy going at the same time. So far so good. I'm excited to keep going.

Ryan takes his time and tailors my lessons specifically to my level and to the type of music I’d like to play. He covers everything from the basics – like the proper way to hold the pick – to more advanced teachings like music theory. Ryan is flexible, patient, easy going, and he consistently teaches at a pace that I’m comfortable with. He provides take-home practice after every lesson and always has helpful suggestions any time I have questions. What I find incredibly helpful is that at the end of the lesson Ryan will run through the take-home practice on his guitar and let me record it on my phone so it’s easier for me to remember. When I’m ready to practice the next day I just pull up his notes and the video and I’m ready to go!
It’s obvious that Ryan has a passion for music, and it shows in his lessons. I would easily give him my highest recommendation.
Before learning Classical and Jazz guitar in school, I was a full on Rocker!!! I played SRV/Hendrix style blues rock to what is now old school metal...Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, etc. I loved early Prog Rock, pre-era of a million extra strings and down tuned everything. I still love to shred, so if you're still reading this, we may be a fit. Thanks!!!!
- I have a record of success with students of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and goals - I teach using a variety of methods and styles, including my own authored books - I own a music academy where I train others to be successful instructors - I have a very high student retention rate - I've been playing over 25 years - I have a BA in Music from Florida State University - I have been teaching for 17 years - I have personally taught over 15,000 private lessons - I have played in numerous bands - I have gigged professionally
*** Lesson Details *** I customize the lessons to the goals of each student. Whether it's for fun and leisure or a driven passion with serious goals, I can give you the tools to accomplish what you want! I love teaching people through the music that they love. So, whether that's Britney Spears, Metallic
a, or Bach, the concepts underlying music are basically the same. I will make sure you can play the music you love and hopefully help you explore new music as well.
*** Studio Equipment *** In my studio I have a Guild Classical, Alvarez Acoustic, and Epiphone Electric.
All the accessories needed as well. Music Stands, Foot Stools, Picks, Straps, Slides, Tuners, Books, etc.
I also use an iMac in lessons. I like incorporating technology when appropriate, to look up tunes, or do a recording session, it's a necessary tool to learn nowadays.
*** Travel Equipment *** I will bring everything we need to conduct a proper lesson remotely. I do recommend you have your own guitar though.
*** Specialties *** For all the advanced knowledge I have and years of teaching students of all kinds, my favorite is teaching beginners. I love seeing someone come in with no knowledge of music, and taking them from milestone to milestone. I love watching new musicians blossom.
I play, teach, and perform most frequently in classical, rock, blues, and pop genres.
Daniel is very knowledgeable and kind. He understands student's strength and weakness and also the areas to focus on. I am a beginner and have self learned on and off for a few years. Daniel teaches progressiveIy and I throughly enjoyed my first session with him!

Great first lesson

Daniel is a fun and easygoing instructor who tailors to your needs, adapting to your musical interests as well as your preferred lesson style. And it is clear that he has years of teaching experience under his belt. He has also helped me improve my music theory understanding, which has become rusty over the years. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor.
I have taught guitar since 2012 and have been playing since 2000. I am happy to take students at the beginner and intermediate levels. I believe strongly in integrating music theory and ultimately moving students toward musical self-suffiency, rather than focusing exclusively on learning particular pieces.
Hi, there! My name is Ben and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2012 and have taught students of all ages from 3 to adult. I have experience not just with teaching but also with writing, recording, and performing music in successful bands and on multiple instruments and in multiple genres. I am comfortable teaching piano, guitar, and bass guitar, ukulele, and I especially love teaching music theory. I have extensive theory training at the college level and have written and composed extensively in the classical, rock, jazz, and folk traditions. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to achieve your musical goals.
Ben has been instructing my 2 kids (now aged 11 and 9) in-home for at least 5 years. We started off with piano for the first few years but then switched to a combination of piano and acoustic guitar (half a session dedicated to each instrument).
He is patient, kind, and highly knowledgeable. I clearly see the upward trajectory in my kids' musical capabilities. One of my kids can be difficult to deal with, especially when he is tired, but Ben would mold his approach to the lesson on the spot to keep my kid engaged (e.g., instead of continuing the lesson on the actual piano, he'd switch to a fun music-oriented game).

I hadn't played a musical instrument since elementary school when I started Ukulele lessons with Ben. Ben started from the beginning, answered all my questions along the way, and built upon that information in each lesson. It wasn't in a didactic way, but in a way that was really customized to fit my Ukulele lesson goals. Ben's teaching style is very flexible also. I had some Ukulele lesson books I had been gifted and we worked from those. I didn't feel that I had to buy a bunch of additional equipment, books, etc.
I recommend Ben as a music teacher. He is understanding, encouraging, and inspirational. I am looking forward to continuing lessons with Ben and JC Instrumental.

Ben has been working with our daughter since January 2019, when she turned 6 1/2. He arrives at our home on time each week and he works with her at an age appropriate level. We appreciate that he recognizes the effort she puts into the weeks when she practices often and he gently makes her aware when she hasn't practiced enough. He always speaks with her in a kind way and with us in a collaborative manner. We all want her to enjoy her piano experience, and we are thankful to have found Ben just a few blocks away from our home.

Dan has been teaching since 2008 and brings both structure and a fully customizable approach to teaching, making sure each student gets exactly what they want and what they need to know to accomplish any musical dream. Dan has extensive experience working with children and teens as well as adults.
At age 9 Dan began studying such instruments as the viola, saxophone, piano and guitar. By the age 12 he identified more with the guitar and chose it as his primary
instrument of musical expression. Dan is currently playing venues in and around NYC and the metropolitan area. He has also performed in France and looks forward to tour more of Europe. He also enjoys a career as a international recording artist and songwriter. As a recording artist he has reached the top 100 charts on Beatport. He has co-written with some of the biggest names in Dance/House music and those songs have gone on to be remixed by some of the biggest DJ’s around.
His musical influences range from The Blues, Pop, RnB, Rock, Funk, Jazz, House and EDM. This range of music continues to influence his writing and vocal styling developing a sound that is truly unique, while also informing a well rounded approach to educating.
I've taken guitar lessons from a few teachers and Dan is the best fit I've ever had. He is very patient and does a fantastic job of tailoring lessons to individual needs. He clearly loves to play music and is very thoughtful about how he shares this knowledge in his lessons. He never fails to encourage me as a guitar player and reinforces a 'can do' attitude. His positive and calm demeanor also make for a fantastic instructor. Thank you, Dan.

First lesson was a great experience for my kids. They are practicing on their own!!! I could tell they couldn't wait for their next lesson. Thank you Dan!!!
I have been playing guitar as my main instrument for almost 20 years. I am a multi-instrumentalist who writes, records, and produces his own alternative/indie rock music (check me out on Spotify, Apple, Soundcloud, Amazon, Google!).
We can develop a lesson plan specifically for what you want to accomplish: covering your favorite songs, writing original songs, improvising, reading music/tabs, and "shredding".
Hello! My name is Taylor and I have been playing guitar since I was 10 (that puts me around 20 years experience at this point in my life). I have picked up singing, drums, piano, and bass since then. I write and record my own music in my own “studio” during free time from work. I occasionally will play cover sets at venues/events for $$$.
I have had 3-4 students in my life and I believe each has met their goals partly from my teaching, but mostly by their own commitment to put the time into practicing what I tell/show them. I have 1 student that just graduated ASU for guitar performance, and another student that writes/records/plays out with his band.
If you are willing to listen and put time in to what I ask you to practice then we should be able to accomplish what you are aiming for in music!
"Amazing guitar learning experience with Stephen!!! Stephen is a very knowledgeable and professional music instructor. I have been taking lesson at his s
tudio for about 8 months. I go there once a week for my 45 min class and practice 15 min every other days at home. Now I can play the musics I like. Also, during the lesson, he always put the me in the live band situation so I can react to the beats and rhythm from different instruments. Fun!!!!!!!!!"
"Hands down a great teacher. Very experienced, and knowledgable about anything you might want to learn. Great with all ages. He always finds a way to make
lessons fun so you want to come to the next one every time."
"Andy taught me a lot about playingstyles (Rock- & Jazz) and chord- & songbuliding. He was my teacher for more than 2 years and i wish i had taken my lesso
ns a lot earlier."
"I took lessons from Cole last year in hopes to get a better feel for understanding the major/minor scales for lead guitar. I've been playing rhythm guita
r for decades and wanted to work my way into playing lead guitar. He asked a ton of questions on what I wanted to accomplish and dialed in his lessons to address these needs. Great teacher and was always on time! I can truly say I am a better guitar player due to my time spent with Cole."
">great instructor communication, patience, and personality >emphasis on rythym and pacing > wide variety of tastes to get started with > excellent lea
"Greg is an incredible player with a humble attitude towards teaching. He also has helped me with all of my technical questions !"
"Kenny really knows his stuff and assembled a comprehensive lesson specific to my goals. Looking forward to next week!"
"Stephen is a brilliant and experienced guitar instructor. My wife signed me up the electric guitar lesson with Stephen after my retirement about a year ag
o. I told him that I had no music background and just wanted to be able to play the 70’s songs I like. The lesson plan is based on my level and my goal. I started the fundamentals and now I can play most my favorite 70’s songs. I enjoy every lesson with him. What I learn in one hour class can fill out the rest of the week. Thank you for making my retired life so meaningful. “It’s never too old to play guitar! “ I would highly recommend Stephen to anyone who wants to learn to play the guitar!"
"theres nothing morgan can't teach. soloing, riffing, songwriting. i have a completely new and better approach to writing songs with my band after taking l
