Over the past twenty-seven years, I have had the privilege of teaching people of all ages and abilities to play the piano. I have been a professional piano accompanist the same amount of time, playing with a wide variety of groups and soloists, learning from each experience. I pass on this knowledge to my students. I enjoy every person I teach, and make sure to tailor my teaching to their personal learning style.
At the age of 12, I discovered what an amazing and versatile instrument the piano can be, and have been studying it, as well as eventually teaching others about its possibilities, ever since. I have had the privilege of playing for a variety or groups and soloists, as lead pianist for many musical

My name is Joseph and I’ve been teaching professionally for 30 + years. Additionally, I’ve toured internationally with many artists and have several solo CDs as a leader. I currently play bass with Cirque Du Soleil in Las Vegas Nevada USA and I know what is required to be a professional musician. I have a customized teaching method for beginners through advanced players, however, I will also adopt things that you want to learn as well. I treat every student and lessons on an individual basis and I don’t have a cookie-cutter method of teaching. Lessons we will cover will be proper technique, solid foundation, rhythmic and groove training, learning notes/scales, learning songs, music theory, reading music, composition, ear training, recording techniques and much more. All ages and playing levels welcome! I look forward to working with you.

Since then, I've had the pleasure of performing in SDSU ensembles with Jordan. I mean it when I say it: Jordan is not only one of the best music teachers in San Diego, but he is also one of the best trombone players I've ever had the pleasure of knowing."
Thank you Ali, I look forward to my lessons!"
I had the guitar for a year before lessons, but with only using Youtube video tutorials and zero experience, I was not dedicated enough to learn anything on my own. So, that guitar just sat there until I ran across this site and chose Michael for my very first lesson, 1 Feb 2016. Well it is now 1 year later and after a year's worth of lessons, I want to publish a review. Michael was very patient with me. I am a very busy homeschooling mom. Originally, I signed up for guitar lessons thinking that it was an affordable option for me to learn and then teach my children- but it ended up being really fun for me to be able to play a tune all on my own! Well, after only 6 months of hard work, I joined (and still continue to play) on my church's praise and worship team. Michael helped me with questions about the music I was given to play. I knew NOTHING before and now I am on a worship team! I have also been asked to play in other places- it is all because of this teacher. I had A LOT of questions and Michael did an exceptional job explaining things without the frustration I would have had since I am not able to physically touch their guitar or their fingers. Before I joined the team, I emailed Michael songs that I was interested in learning how to play and he figured out the chords and strumming patterns and would teach me the song. He would record himself playing back the song (slow and then normal tempo) as well as provide a written tab or whatever it was that I needed in order to "get it."
I made a recording to document my journey (video below with a link to the written part). I know it's not the best, but I know from where I came and how far I had come with the guitar. If you are looking for a teacher who takes any kind of music that you are interested in and helps you reach your goals- whatever they might be for the guitar- then this guy is your guy. Thank you Michael for all of your hard work. Also, thank you for for being so patient with me when I did not do my homework as much as I should have. Your accountability and grace kept me going. Look at me now!!! https://youtu.be/l8yixvi1ohM"
The ukulele is a beginner-friendly instrument that you’re never too young or old to try out. From the first time you pick up the uke, you’ll be amazed at just how accessible this instrument is. With just a few easy ukulele chords, you can play a variety of tunes that sound great and are fun to sing along with. A few extra bonuses – the ukulele is affordable, portable, and has a warm, uplifting tone. If you think the ukulele is only fit for breezy tropical tunes, think again. You can u …
